South bound carriageway of the A322 southwater bypass. Two sets of cameras either end, one as you come of the roundabout over the M3 and the other at the following roundabout. Anyone know whether these are specs? Three cameras at each location. Do they read the front of your car or the back or both?

I have only just noticed them. Are they speed cameras or just normal cctv cameras?

From Surrey Safety Camera Partnership
The cameras that you have seen on the A322 Lighwater Bypass is a trial of
SPECs (Speed Check Services) equipment.

This is a private company who are testing the registration number
recognition technology. It is not, and will not be used for enforcement at
this location, and is not connected in anyway to the Surrey Safety Camera
Partnership.

There are no current plans for introducing SPECs time over distance
equipment in Surrey.

If you would like to know more about the SPECs system, there is a website
you can visit at www.speedcheck.co.uk.

Surrey currently has no plans to install any safety cameras along this
stretch although the site will be included in next year's analysis and
review of camera sites. With regards to the crash barrier, there no plans
so far as I am aware to install a central reservation, although I will
forward your comments to the local transportation service for them to
include in their analysis.
