Does anyone have experience of claiming for damage to a vehicle due to defective road surfaces?
I have a tyre damaged and need of replacement, which means 2 tyres. I am looking at a minimum of £110.
It happened on Xmas Eve as i splashed through what I thought was a lane sized puddle but turned out to be a really bad pot hole, I am surpised it was only a tyre damaged such was the bang.
What are the chances of a succesful claim? Is it local authority or thr road maintnance company I should be looking to?

Took advice from an insider and the details were similar to yours. Digital camera is all I have available but it is a good un. I will be taking loads of pics of the road in general as it is in a shocking state, it looks like a patchwork quilt and it is an A road.
Biggiest worry is safety of standing on the road to take a pic, it is a quiet road with bends and dips and most folks do not hang around on it.
