Ok this morning I had a little knock caused by a third party who made off at speed.

Basically he was driving dangerously close to me so I eased off the gass to suggest to him that he was too close. This had no effect so a short while later I tapped my brakes so as to flash my brake lights, well this didn't go down well with the guy behind who then proeeded to overtake me followed by a nice cutting up manouver forcing me to brake.

Not happy by this display of driving I flashed him. Well red rag to a bull, this was as he then stood on his brakes forcing me to do an emergency stop.

Unfortunately the driver now behind me wasn't totally awake and ran into me.

On seeing this the driver who caused it sped off.

The question is, I only managed to get the first letter of his registration but the car has been modified and as such is easy to identify, is it worth me reporting the incident to the police or will it go uninvestigated?

I'm thinking of waiting close to the scene at a similar time next week so I may see the car again an get the rest of his registration - assuming it's the route he takes to work...

Repies along the same lines as I was thinking...

Thing is was a 40mph limit just after a roundabout there I joined and I was accellerating fairly briskly.

The guy who caused it joined behind me there and was tailgating me within a very short distance and so close that I couldn't even see the front of his car.
Totally out of order in my book.

I know I shouldn't have flashed but his sort of driving was completely unnecessary and extremely dangerous as he proved. Considering this was at 7:30 in the morning he must have got out of the wrong side of the bed several times just to make sure!

What's more, I can assure you he did see what he'd done. He had already come to a complete stop and only sped off once I'd stoppped and been rear ended.
