Actually, the stereotype of rednecks driving Corvettes was quite a strong one in Texas (but then again there were a lot of rednecks <smirk>
.
The largest number of Corvettes I've ever seen in one place was on the way back from an Allman Brothers Band concert (also, sadly and wrongly, associated with rednecks these days). On the drive back from the venue to Houston almost every car on the road was a C5. Made for quite an interesting drag race (especially as I was a little toasted and my partner was driving).
