Guys,

The wait is finally over, as my new R500 kit will be delivered today!cool

As I type this it should be on the Caterham Cars delivery van making its way up the M40 to its new home.

I will post more later today, but look out for some pictures this afternoon, following delivery after about 2PM today.

Feel like its Christmas come early now, the wife wont see me in the house all week now, although shes probably happy about that eh?

Cheers,

Nige.

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for the congrats.

I have had a call from the main man himself, Ansar Ali today, to apologize that my car will be short of some items that they are still waiting for.

I have to say he was one of the nicest and most professional people I have ever spoken to at Caterham, and made me feel very special as a new customer that the MD himself should call with a personal apology.

I also reassured him that he should be unconcerned with the comments of certain people on certain unmentionable forums, who believe that Caterham Cars are not going a good job.

I personally believe that the new R500 is the best car they have ever made, and from what Ansar told me its has been a fantastic sales success for the company too.

Long may they prosper I say.

Cheers,

Nige.

Hi Nigel

A phone call from the owner himself is great customer service and attention to detail IMHO. To show he cares that much speaks volumes.

Like you say, long may they prosper. My Superlight is my first ever Caterham, and I know it won't be my last.

Cheers

Guys,

My car has arrived, here are some pictures of it being delivered:

It looks great but as you can see its missing its stripe, as they could not get the green colour before delivery!!

Its also missing the engine, the diff, launch control and quite a few other bits too.

Still I have been told by Ali Ansar himself they will be delivered next week.

Lets get bolting!!

Nige.

Now that looks exciting - I really like the white.
I assume the box is very heavy.
Keep posting pictures of the build.

Hi Marcello,

Thanks it really does look great in the white, and even better when the sun catches it too.

And no surprisingly the sequential box is not that heavy, I lifted it out of the van myself, and it really was not a strain at all.

Its a beautifully made and race spec product by the way, just wait until you feel the weight behind the changes, Cor!!!!

Look out for more pics today

looks great. Need to sort out those cut ends on the cable ties though. Hand-rippingly horrid!
I am intrigued as to what happens in the boot with the stays from the diff and the harnesses?

Guys,

Yes I agree about the zip tie cut offs, I do have a proper tool for my own, that cuts them clean when tensioning, not sure if it will work on ones already cut though, I will have to watch my poor hands on those.

Here are some more pics of today's build:

Again full size photos in my album on webshots.

Where do the shoulder straps for the harnesses mount then?
