Perhaps Nigel you should build a car with a Stack and IVA it
HI Mic , I iva'd my car just before xmas with a Stack Dash, it went through Notts centre without an issue .Whats the issue with the dash that they fail it on, as i understand there is an exclusion zone around the wheel that covers radius etc as fails.

I believe the issue is actually to do with safety around the dash itself, and relates to the need for a collapsible steering column in the event of an accident, and with the Stack unit fitted in prevents the use of the collapsible column.Whats the issue with the dash that they fail it on, as i understand there is an exclusion zone around the wheel that covers radius etc as fails.

Many cars have passed the IVA though, such as yours, and both my previous R500 and my current R500 too.

My car has a stack and collapsible column. There is some rubbish talked about sometimes (I know I will get flamed for that!). And to note the collapsable section is the other side of the bulkhead in the engine bay! quote]

With a curb weight of 520kg? and 311bhp with 219lb/ft its a 598.08R right with 421.15lbft/ tonne
Dont see what the big deal is , ive been driving a 597.6R with 422.31lbft / tonne for since 2009, hit the rev limiter at Spa with 3.92 final drive, 0.89 5th gear, 577mm dia rears and 8250 revs, so just slightly more than 155mph. Car cost = 18 grand + 5.5 on engine 23.5 , Make = Caterham.
No STACK, just fuzzy wuzzy analogue rev gauge, and a red not even LED limiter light! type 9 SP box, and a look in me eye to say 'ive just paid off a lump of the mortage with the 31.5 grand i have saved giving to caterham'.
Do i get to join the willy waving club now? or do i have to have STACK or Aces fitted to qualify?

Ok That makes more sense , i understand that notts iva will accept the standard sliding clamp arrangement , but gillingham iva and perhaps others you have to fit a collapsible boss in the car side behind the wheel to pass. Many cars have passed the IVA though, such as yours, and both my previous R500 and my current R500 too.

If it's the car in your profile pic, it looks lovely!! You're not comparing equals though are you? I could brag my old '94 968CS had (much) more power, and was considerably lighter than a new (997) GT3 - wasn't a GT3 though was it?

True, but the 968 is a different beast to a 997 gt3. Sure the seq box and change is a nice bonus along with the torque delivery but its a big premium. Be interesting to see what it gets around the tg track, a CSR 260 was 1.17.4 and the r500 seq 1.17.9. I would have thought it be 1.17 + territory but its using zzr and sadev so there's potential for high 1.16...... Looking forward to it!

Hey Gents - really intrigued in hearing from 620R/R600 owners experiences once you get your mitts on the cars from a noise/cooling and grin factor perspective
Before the 600/620R was even a rumour, we'd started a Honda K20A/Rotrex supercharged custom built NZ brand of clubman nearly 2 years ago. Now 2-3 months away from driving it out of the shop, interested how it would compare to the Caterhams. And figuring how we're possibly going to keep it from blowing my ear drums out....

so thoughts on it from watching top gear? I rather like the colour scheme they chose for this one though it may be a marmite colour. Other than that seemed to be pretty much what I expected from it - and yes in the wet it isnt the best
