Jason, they look fantastic thumbup

Did you buy them complete or did you have existing doors re-covered? I need to buy a set of doors and would rather have the carbon look than the standard Caterham vinyl. Where could I get a set?

Thanks Dominic

Hi Jason,
This question is about how to avoid the dreaded Q plate, I noticed that you bought a caterham classic without the engine and gearbox, what sort of discount did caterham give you? and does the engine gearbox you've installed class as new, reconditioned or remanufactured. Apparently there is a set number of secondhand or reconditioned parts you can use. How do they police this or is the responciblity with us to supply proof of newness. I do plan to build my first caterham this year after I have built the garage, I was thinking of maybe the starter kit route but would appreciate your veiws. Why dont you publish you build on blatchat ,great build.
If you prefer to post reply off forum my email address is philbirch3@hotmail.com

Quick question about Oxted Trimmings.......do they make the half doors as well and if so any idea how much they charge? I find the £200 Caterham charge a bit on the pricey side redface I'd run any of the alternatives, but we're forced to run standard half doors in racing...

Try http://www.softbitsforsevens.co.uk/ . They do half doors.

Hmm..I'd have to have something fairly subtly different. Does different colour stitching on its own count? Bit of a gamble since the rules state:

5.6.15 It is permitted to use Caterham half side screens (Part numbers 76257A and 76258A), but no other alternatives.

It would be good to have red stitching to match the other red highlights on the car, so I suppose it's up to the powers that be! Cheers for the info though. I'll email the various people concerned!

Looks great Jason, well done. Doesn't look like much ground clearance in the pics. Maybe just because it's parked on grass?
