Hey Incorrigible, where are you in West Sussex? If it's not too far from Brighton is there any chance of fitting in an extra participant? (can't be too far 'cos I'm 17 and can't afford a car yet)

Edit: Found out this morning that my weekends booked anyway. Enjoy!

So, is it built yet, no phone calls, so I guess that
1-it arrived and you've been busy.
2-it didn't arrive and you've been drunk.
3-it arrived, you built it and crashed it (like mechsympathy's)

Whatever, I hope that you enjoy and I expect to see it soon, either in Sussex or Devon.

Nope, decided to ignore the side protection for the time being

Rear suspension is finished though and the engine and gearbox all ready to go in once I've got the speedo take-off clipped in

Clip shoud arrive tomorrow, so I think I'll go down the pub and watch the footy tonight

Cool - you've even got Mick Hucknall helping in the build

he won't appreciate that. Just an extra pair of hands when I bunged the engine in. He's not much good anything apart from lifting and tea making.

I saw other people had lined the engine bay with cardboard to protect the chassis, I couldn't be arsed.

Oh, I think you're being a little hard on him - he made a decent fist of "money's too tight to mention" and girls say he's a demon in bed.

This is a bit embarassing but in all honesty I don't know

It's an accademy car, so the engine is sealed for the whole season anyway. The engine is rover, it's a 1.6 IIRC. The gearbox looks like it's the same one used in Sierras (five speed according to the knob).

The wheels are grey and the tyres seem to made of some sort of indonesian hardwood (again, standard for the race series)

The rear suspension is a DeDion without Watts linkages (I only know this becasue I bolted them on at the weekend)

It's not painted, and won't be, the plastic bits are yellow, but I may change that

Coming to a track near you soon

When you say read, I assume that there are pictures helping the build?!
It's nice to see that if all else fails, somebody can look at the destructions.
Do you know if this model comes with reinforced stub axles, not that he'll ever let me drive it anyway?!?!?

I turned up on Friday night to find Ben grumbling about the couple of bits that don't fit. Fortunately there's a nice book that tells you (even if some of the diagrams are a bit sketchy) how to put it together. Bish bosh no need to shove a rocket up the factory's arse

But this was 2 weeks ago, so I expect it's SVAed by now. Eh Ben?
