Don't really understand your point, I commented on your opionion that you need a CSR to mince other cars at trackdays, I was simply pointing out that this is in fact incorrect, a lowly roadsport will do this quite admirably.
Furthermore if you mean around a track I belive the roadsport to be better than the excige.....shock, horror.
Maybe you should read my post again

I just said that if you had a CSR you've got the ability to mince a lot of machinery. Not, what track day car is quicker than other track day cars, you could be here for ages pointing out what low cost car is quicker than something at the higher end of the price range.
I was mearly going on the spec mentioned in the earlier comments.
What caterham have you got yourself?

The only Exiges that get even near a moderately powerful Caterham, driven well, are those with the Audi or Honda engines. A standard Exige (even Toyota engined) is just not fast enough over a complete lap.
Any Caterham will flatter a driver over a lap. You'll go faster and faster, will brake less, carry more speed into a corner, luxuriate in the lack of roll, the feeling of the car easing into the corner...and that's even in the lowest powered car. The aggravation comes when cars with a faster top-end do just enough to prevent you overtaking them on the straight...unless you're on an RMA trackday, you risk being black-flagged for overtaking (or undertaking!) in the braking zone in order to get past them...
If you want a track optimised car that is still flexible enough to use on the road, I can help you...pm me if you're serious - 2005/6 cars with or without cages....dry sumped or not, flat floored....can be delivered to your spec.

Your driving requirements sound made for a CSR. If you have wonderful open roads with limited traffic, but possibly quite poor surfaces in places then a CSR is your weapon of choice. The IRS rear end and pushrod front end will iron out far more of the bumps and leave you to concentrate on where you want to put the car. CSR Superlight is just balistic and the Dynamic Suspensions dampers on that model are pretty special pieces of kit. Contray to popular opinion, these aren't only an option for obese or tall people, the bigger chassis gives you more space for touring, better fuel range on track and a car that can be driven by most shapes and sizes. If you are whippet slim then you can always fit different seats to the car to hold you in further.
I drive an R300 now, but I would switch to a CSR if funds were available, it really is a step on.
That said I have heard the new R400 is supple but handles brilliantly too, so that is always an option.

Do you have access to 16 of them by any chance? Good luck.sfaulds said:
