Those little nose cone "spoilers" seem to have rather a sharp edge. How long before you gash your knuckles while washing or polishingrolleyes your seven?
I think they are just for show.

Nice to see a picture of your car on here Toby!

Never gashed my finger on the edge of the whiskers while washing the car. Some care is needed, but no more than around the edges of the front wings.

If you've got a tatty or sharp edge on a piece of carbon fibre, you can run a bead of superglue round the edge, so that it soaks into the whiskers of fibre, then once it's dried just sand it down to a smooth edge.

So....does anyone know the length of the original CSR canards?

I'm making some in CF but the dimensions would be very useful.

There are some on the web at 150mm long, these seem too short on the bigger nose of an SV or CSR....I estimate from photos that the OE Caterham CSR ones are 230 to 240mm.

Could someone measure some please? I don't want to make them longer than they should be.

Here are my mock-ups....trying to work out size and angle before making them in CF.

These are about 225mm long. They were originally 240mm but looked too long.

The Mog motorsport ones are apparently 190mm long.

Canards in CF 'faite maison' now in place although they are about 20cm.I'll make a few more pairs as I have a load of carbon fibre material left over.
