Hello

Just got a beautiful Roadsport SV 150 Anniversary, she is lovely, especially on a sunny Sunday morning. Sorry for the daft question (the search function does not work at the moment) but when trying to fill her with v-power this morning the nozzle did not fit. I had to buy a plastic tank and fill that then fill the tank. She has the aero-style filler cap and it seemed the pump nozzle design was not compatible, the second lip on the nozzle hit the top of the cap and stopped easy fueling. (Very embarrassing). Is this a common feature? Is the a fix, apart from finding a new petrol station.

Here she is..

Congratulation on your new car... She looks lovely...

A fairly common problem and worse in europe...... It is due to the design of the neck of the tank - has nothing to do with the aerocap

Options: 1- remove the "lid spring" form inside the neck of the cap (you may thoght smell some petrol when cornering, but still petrol tight....

2- carry a plastic funnell..... :-)

I know how you feel as the same thing happened to me on my first fill up. Shell station nozzles seem to fit with a bit if juggling otherwise it's a funnel or remove the inside flap as already suggested.

Thanks guys - James and I will have a look at removing the spring and see if that makes filling up easier.

Interesting - I have never had a problem with the standard filler cap. I thought the aero filler has a lip that stands the nozzle slightly further off. I also thought that CC had changed the aero filler slightly at some point (perhaps to address this issue).

May not be to everyone's liking but I removed the radius'd pipe and replaced with a straight pipe with it's own filler cap.
You have to lift the tonneau cover corner for access but it's the quickest filling method by far :-)

According CC south, it doesn't matter is it plastic or aerofiller, the problem is in the neck not the lid cover......

That may well be right but as you can see from this BC thread:-

there seems to be some difference between what CC say and what owners experience in this regard. Thread also suggests a recent modification too.

Edited to add this link where Myles is writing about the aero filler making things worse:-

Very slightly O/T but not worth it's own thread...

My fuel guage (stack) said I'd got down to between 1 & 3 ltrs of fuel yesterday, so I pulled over and put in a 5 ltr can to get me to the nearest garage. Fuel guage went up to 14 ltrs. I assume therefore that when it get's down that low there is still a decent amount of fuel on board. (Rather than 'over'reading at 14 ltrs) It's nearly a decade since my last Seven and I can't remember which way round it was - so to speak. I do remember it was always a bit vague!

Seem to remember that coming up on BC a while back.

Conclusion was that the CC branded Stack came pre-programmed and their calibration of the fuel level was a bit off the mark. Unfortunately the CC version can't be re-calibrated.

Mine's much the same as yours by the sounds of it.

To avoid to create a new topic I add my question below. I'm having issue to fill the tank, I'd like to remove the flap. I struggle to remove the 3 fuel hoses which are really stiff (and old), so I m wondering if I can hammer or grind the 3 spot welds circled. Then the queston will I be able then to extract this flap ? Thanks
