Caterham 160 in professional long term storage over the winter i.e. off road.
Yesterday I moved my address from a flat to a Narrowboat in a residential marina.

Phoned insurer to say I’ve changed address and car is in storage until April.
Insurance now immediately invalid - 7 day statutory DVLA notice, despite 6 months to run.

The new address, even has a valid post code, quiet rural location with off street parking, is not a category of home address they can cover.
They will not even cover it in storage.

No option but to SORN it.

Needless to say I’m furious @^ £#!

I have my Caterham 7 ( 1993 HPC ) insured with Hagerty ( along with my other nine classics) - my cars alternate between being garaged at home and in secure storage about fifteen miles from home.

I don't live on a riverboat but the storage position may duplicate your situation. I've always found Hagerty to be absolutely excellent in every respect and wouldn't go anywhere else. Perhaps worth a try ?

Good Luck and hope you get sorted out.
Thanks, the classic car route through Hagerty turned out to be just the ticket I was looking for.
They knew immediately of the car storage business I was using and spoke like car enthusiast rather than businessmen.
