But if you were in a position to be able to afford a new car anyway, then surely you could go out and buy a 10yr old car for £50-£1000 and then get £2000 under the scrappage scheme??
Ah, I thought there must be something about having to have owned the car for a certain amount of time! I haven't seen the full breakdown for the criteria. - Currently the scheme only runs until next March I think so you'd need to have the car already.
