Very good point and I hope Ford UK are bringing over plenty of parts for spares and repairs.

I have a feeling that if anything goes wrong we'll be off the road for a long time.

Like wise if the car is not worthy of sale due to damage, bad panel alignment etc

Still begs the question why the Mustang has panel issues when Mondeos, Focus, Fiestas, Transits etc don't?

Go Compare has the Mustang on it's site. My cheapest quote was £380 with eSure and that's London on the street working in entertainment with business use as the cons with the pros being 53 years old, Full NCB, no claims or convictions, licence since 1982.

Tomorrow I hope to be putting an offer on a rental in the countryside 30 miles outside of London that is in a quiet village with a garage, so hopefully the insurance will be a lot less.

I should cancel my order as I can't justify spending the money that I don't have but I have always wanted a Mustang.

I can't see the front of my little e36 either but you get a feel for these things. I think the interior is fine and if anything too classy for a muscle sorry pony car. I would prefer a more utilitarian interior.

I agree on the rear room as it will mean I can only ever take 2 of my 3 kids for a ride. Not sure why it was designed that way as the original Mustang had plenty of room for 4.

It's not the legroom, it's the headroom. Surely a slightly higher roof line would not have detracted from its looks or even the style of the 60s coupe rather than fastback.

Taken from the Ford UK site.

"Enjoy the hushed, refined ambience of the Mondeo’s cabin. Superior materials are used throughout and a range of interior options enables you to further personalise your experience. Rear passengers can also sit back and enjoy generous legroom, headroom and elbow room."

Don't think that describes the Mustang at all.

Over on Mustang6g the head of Ford has become a member and has offered his email address.

Can't do a link now but it's in the UK section under the thread Now I'm Really Pissed.

Hope so Stig.

This kind of thing worries me. Will our cars be off the road for months on end when it comes to breakdowns, repairs, warranty work etc because of lack of spares. What about refusing a car because it was damaged in transit, it's a lemon, not up to scratch etc

Wait another year for a replacement.

So I have my VIN and a supposed build date of the 14th Sept but apart from very basic info on Etis no window sticker is coming up on the various different recommended sites.

Usual?

Have another check on your window sticker, mine is now active and I have the same build date (14th) as you. The 'blend' number seems to indicate that mine will actually be built on the 17th (Thursday), so the sticker is available 4 or 5 working days in advance. I guess if the 14th is a 'week beginning' date you should have a sticker by tomorrow at the latest (or Monday I suppose if nothing gets created on weekends).

Getting closer! smile
What are you using to check it? Etis recognises my VIN but there is very basic info. Just GT, Fastback, 6spd man and 5.0 V8. At least that's all correct.

Interesting day yesterday.

It was supposed to be my build day according to the guy that I rang at my dealership a couple of weeks ago but then a member on another forum accessed the Ford Vehicle Monitoring System and took a screen grab which showed that my car is due to be built on the 28th Sept.

I then got a call from Pierre who works with Andy Barrett, head of Ford UK, who wanted to talk over some points that I mentioned in an email to Andy, he also confirmed that my car is due to be built on the 28th.

About an hour later my sales lady called me (Think it is the first time they have called me first) to tell me the exciting news that my car is due to be built on the 21st??

I told her about Pierre's call but she was adamant that their info was correct, although she said she could not promise delivery before Christmas.

Well it was just nice to have some contact biggrin

Ha. Well it could be December or it might be January biggrin

Once it gets to January I would like to hang on until March for the new reg and better weather so I'm almost hoping for a minor delay. I certainly won't want it sitting at the dealers for a few months.

Good luck with your order and a great choice biggrin

Ordered the day after the price was announced. 22nd Jan I think.

Have a build date of 25th Sept, next week.

I can't afford mine and still haven't decided how to finance it.

Supposedly built today. Hope it's not a Friday Afternoon Special.

So if they are not expected until the New Year, I'd rather hang on until March. Better weather and a newer plate.

I wish Ford would communicate with us and not leave us to speculate all the time. What's the big fekin' secret!!!

If there is a delay, write or email the customers. It's pretty fekin' easy.

A few did the rounds of some dealers earlier in the Summer. Call Think Ford in Guildford, who brought over a US GT to have in their showroom, just to check where it is as they move it around their group.

Not ideal, I know, but not too bad a trip from Southampton.
