Ok, It's a 1968 Cougar XR-7. It's a 68 Mustang with a 3 inch longer wheelbase. Being an XR7 it has a wood-grained steering wheel, a simulated wood-grained dashboard with a full set of black-faced competition instruments and toggle switches, an overhead console, a T-type center automatic transmission shifter in the full length centre console with a clock in it. This one came into the UK in 2005 as a California black plate car, it's a 302, Auto with power steering and power disc brakes. and i bought it in early November from a chap in Nunneaton. While he had it, it was fitted with a comp cam, Edelbrock inlet and carb and a Davis unified ignition distributor. He also fitted the Nascar style wheels and removed the vinyl roof and painted the bonnet matt black.
My plans for it are to make the rear indicator switchable between sequential and UK legal and possibly put the vinyl roof back on and get the bonnet painted blue again. Aside from that drive it as much as possible.

I really ought to sort the indicator bulb that went over Christmas, but if you get within 10 feet of the car you get covered in dirt haha. You can see where we had to clean the top part of the bumper so we could load the car on the return trip. Probably ought to take it to the car wash.....but it is booked in for a manicure with a cleaning specialist later this month. Bye bye paintwork swirls.

Trouble is that I've got to remove the sub from the boot (i think) to get to the cluster.

I'd leave exactly as it is. It looks spot on to me cool
