Haha, didn't mean it to come out like that.
I meant that it doesn't have a GT500 front end etc, looks more like an aftermarket Cali Special front.
haha, I knew what you meant. I brought it from a guy who had converted it from a standard GT into this. I know its not a true 'Shelby' however it still sounds sweet with that V8 Purrrr haI meant that it doesn't have a GT500 front end etc, looks more like an aftermarket Cali Special front.
With a lovely warm late spring Saturday and nothing better to do (ie her indoors hasn't planned anything for me )...what better than to wash and wax, prior to a good run ? So the old girl got a good going over. Rinsed. Washed. Rinsed. Waxed and polished. Leather clean and treated. Followed by a good swallow of unleaded.

Like this you mean:I got my '65 original radio off US eBay pretty easily. The repro Rally-Pac is good, but rather expensive. I think you can get repro parts for the console but I'm not sure about the frame. I found mine in the UK, but it did need quite a bit of work before fitting (especially as it was originally from a convertible which has a slightly different floor shape). I don't think the consoles were that common when new. Unless you are lucky, you will need to paint the console and Rally-Pac to match the interior.

That's impossible to say but the price is OK if it's a good one that doesn't need anything doing.
Yes it's in very good condition and need nothing...drives really well with a new looking interior, but I bought with my heart instead of my head and keep seeing sub 15k mustangs....I have no one to ask their opinion so yours in valued as you have a similar car, be it much nicer, wish I'd of held out for a manualYou can change it over to a manual quite easily - it does cost though - if you could pick up a cheap T5 box you could do it for a reasonable sum - new pedal obviously, clutch, then it's time and effort. Personally I wouldn't bother to change it for a factory manual - ie three or four speed.
I've converted mine from auto to manual but when doing a total rebuild it is much easier.
Seen you've posted over on the club site which is good - good community over there able to help with any queries ...
Get on over there and post some pics up in the readers' rides section!

If you had held out for a manual it may have taken a while, as most are autos. Mine was automatic as well when I bought it, but now has the T5 conversion which has the interior look just like the original manual box, but with the advantage of a long 5th gear for cruising. Because 5th is so long the rear axle ratio can be changed to 3.89 which makes it accelerate quicker as well. The conversion was expensive, but still worth it for me personally, as it's more fun to drive. If you plan on keeping the car long term then maybe it's worth considering. My car was similar to yours in spec when I bought it, but I've been doing bits each year. This years change is going to be a nice Shelby style steering wheel There's nothing wrong with buying a car with your heart, that's the best way I reckon. If the car is a good one to start with, and it sounds like it is, then you can have fun making a few improvements.
