You could by for $200 if we lived in the US like you do but by the time they have added all the extra charges on import duty shipping etc sadly its double that price for the UK.

It just says Ford Performance. Genuine Part. The bloke spitting his beer out championing the $200 brace looks like it cost $200. I.e. ste.
Yeah - Genuine Ford Performance part - OEM on Boss 302 - but I'm sure you know best. It has a slightly deeper bend to clear the hi-rise manifold, which I subsequently installed. They're both made by the same company, using the same material. So both ste then?
Just in case it's not common knowledge, American Muscle ship internationally and include duty and shipping in their pricing.
www.americanmuscle.com
I have no vested interest - just spent quite a lot with them - they are very highly regarded by the Mustang and Challenger communities in North America.
I suspect that they will be significantly less expensive than a UK Ford dealer or Mustang "specialist".
Of course, you need to figure out how to install the mods, but that's all part of the fun, right?

American Muscle do add duty & shipping plus tax but when this is all added on it is costing 56% more than what you can buy in the US (example) Mustang GT brace to by in the US costs,www.americanmuscle.com

Subtotal £212.89
Tax £54.77
Duty £11.79
Shipping & Handling £52.48
Total £331.93
Not really worth all the hassle for what little you save in IMO.

I do apologize for having the effrontery to suggest something (all the hassle!) that only saves you the thick end of 70 quid. Subtotal £212.89

I appreciate anyone suggesting where you can buy parts cheaper but you seem to be missing the point of what l have been trying to explain. For you to buy in the US it is cheaper but not when your in the UK because of charges that are added on. The example l gave is a GT strut brace from American Muscle which is 56% more expensive when it arrives in the UK it is not £70 pounds cheaper.
Another (example) l can buy a GT350R brace for £323.96 already in the UK which is more than the standard GT brace in the UK.
There is no need to get so touchy l was trying explain what the prices end up at in the UK thats all.

I get it - American car parts are cheaper in the US than they are in UK - even by as much as 56% - my point was that the price shipped from the US is still GBP68.00 cheaper than your UK sourced item. For you to buy in the US it is cheaper but not when your in the UK because of charges that are added on. I'm not getting touchy - just trying to save you guys a few quid. If your Mustang ownership experience is similar to what mine was - you'll be making improvements way beyond a strut brace, in which case you may find the savings start getting more worthwhile.
Make sense?

Yes. However in my case I wanted the supplying dealer to supply and fit the brace along with the brand new car they were delivering to me and to that end, it made sense to organise it all through them and the official channels. I was not charged for the fitting of the item either.I'm not getting touchy - just trying to save you guys a few quid. I get your point for people retro fitting such an item, now that we have ascertained it is kosher.

Strut Brace was about £400 fitted including VAT.
Just had a quote from days ford in Swansea , they're really poor on sales and service and product knowledge, quoted£600 for the strut fitting and purchase, with a take or leave it view when I mentioned what your Ipswich price was, don't mind the money that much but really don't want to spend my money there with that attitude. I wasn’t joking when I said that I doubted they know what a strut brace is, even the most thieving cowboys in the car trade would not charge £200 for four nuts and bolts, on my last Mustang GT I fitted a G Track brace, a full IRS kit and a strut brace in less than an hour and I am not a car mechanic or technician! In a year of ownership nothing fell off!!

So in essence they want £200 to fit it! Daylight robbery. Is this your supplying dealer for the car? Shameful attitude.
Yeah, the supplying dealer, as you guys know we're not spoilt for choice, if it doesn't affect warranty etc, i'd fitit myself as it's a twenty minute job, from the pics of UK engines I can see the rear steel brace is already in place.
