Star Wars Battlefront (PS4)
Discussion
Think we need a PS4 devoted thread for this game so here we go.
The website/app companion is up and running now along with the first round of Base Command that I am finding quite fun in a simple kind of way.
Much as I liked Walker Assault on the beta my suspicion is that most of us will end up playing Supremacy.
Who else is getting at launch?
PSN is same as here.

So will this be the new PH clan game?.
Don't know. In my view matches didn't really work on bf4, for it to work on this we would need private servers for starters of which I have seen no word yet.Still trying to get the last star on the last seige of battle command, suspect it may be impossible without some of the unlocks.
Question for you guys.
The PS4 has a battlefront special edition coming out in 3 days with the usual extras plus vouchers etc for DLC.
I intended to buy one anyway (1TB), this edition is coming in at around £350, and there's really not much in it price wise for the other bundle deals at Game.
I just like the way the console looks in the pics, and some guy on Reddit has won one of them and unboxed it the other day.
Does that seem a decent deal?.
I loved Battlefront on the PS2, between that and Skyrim I must have wasted hours of game time...

Did you need to download the beta for this?
Don't think so but can't be entirely sure as I did play the beta, but it did go down after the beta and only came online again last week. You earn credits for the main game so worth a look. I am accessing through the main website where my EA account is linked to my PSN account. Really in two minds whether to get this. While I initially enjoyed the beta, once you get over the "OMG it's Star Wars" reaction the game play itself was pretty shallow. No squads, weapons are all much of a muchness and shooting is far to much spray and pray. It's more like CoD with a Star Wars re-skin then a proper BF game. I just don't think it's going to have the depth\staying power to keep me hooked for long. The problem is there aren't any other FPS games out to get my teeth into.

I'd agree with all those concerns. I'm going to buy it tonight anyway though . I just hope they add a lot of content over the beta otherwise, as you say, it's likely to get very repetitive very quickly. I’m not necessarily disagreeing either although I actually found more depth in the Beta the more I played it and loved the way on Walker Assault that, from my point of view, balance shifted over the duration of the beta from the Imperials to the Rebels. I too am not sure about reviews and obviously have an issue with any that claims the beta was balanced towards the Imperials!
My recollection of the previous Battlefront games was they lacked depth too but had great playability and if I get that here absolutely fine. As much as I would have loved a Star Wars Battlefield I think I can understand why they have gone with something different and agree with that decision. Personally I would say its still more Battlefield like than COD like. And we only have a year to wait for BF5 – allegedly!

I'm well in to Fallout 4 at the moment. I was thinking about picking this up nearer Christmas but after watching a bit of Levelcap's review this morning maybe not.
The reviewers played games that had weapons fully unlocked. Apparently it turned into an OP explosives fest. So if I am late to the game I may have fallen to far behind for it to be enjoyable.
BTW If you play on a server with thehangingjudge do remember that all of the vehicles are his!
