Lego Star Wars 2

'kin ace!
Harder than the first one (it has adaptive difficulty - works really well), levels seem to take longer and theres a few more things to find. Overall a lot more to it and replayability to it. It's also just as funny - even some adult touches such as Han Solo wearing an Indiana Jones hat at one point. Recommended for kids and bigger kids too!
I was pissing myself when I inadvertantly put a moustache on the Millenium Falcon...

Yes it's great. My little 'un got it a couple of weeks ago and he's hooked. I keep hearing him burst out in laughter so rush in to see what he's up to; today it was Lando fondling and kissing Leia's hand
he also said, "daddy, I'm on the bit where Leia is wearing the nice outfit". I think you'll know which bit that is.
Anyhow, did you know for the sake of 150,000 studs you can transfer all the characters from I, II and III across to this game? he wanted to do this the othere day but he's just bought all sorts of droids. Marvellous stuff indeed!!!!!!!

My god it's a tough one though! Especially the flying sections - I don't seem to be able to stop getting blown up too often to become a "True Jedi"
Hmmm.... or maybe I'm just too old and the reflexes are shot!

Nice to see some happy customers
I work at Travellers Tales and the chaps who worked on that game are rightly proud of it.
ps: my missus is one of the animators for those wicked cut-scenes

Then sincere congratulations to the chaps, but especially the missus for those hilarious cut-scenes! I find myself replaying them after each mission to look for stuff happening in the background. Brilliant!
Thanks one and all, I'll pass the messages on.
They are working on another LEGO title now, the name of which I can't release I don't think. Suffice to say I think its a pretty cool licence anyway. As you can probably guess we have the LEGO licence side of thing sewn up for the forseeable....
I've just finished working on a Bionicles game btw, incase any of you have younger kids that are into those figures....

Right, this DS version is really f**king me off now
Can anyone shed any light on how to activate Freeplay Mode? I get the option for each level (having finished each level on story mode - eventually), I select it, get a choice of groups of characters to use, and that's it. I can use the shoulder buttons to move through the selection list, but no other buttons do anything and I can't appear to play in free mode (which kinda ruins completing the game completely).
Had fun over the Sarlacc pit where about 4 attempts in a row, my companions decided to play skidding around on their arses under some of the the movable platforms and continually killed themselves. Eventually managed to get through the level through luck more than skill when my companions decided not to join a suicide pact.
I've read on the web that the DS version had been rushed out, and it clearly shows. Apparantly pressures from Lucasarts to tie-in with the cash-in re-releases of all the original films.
If anyone can tell me how to access free mode, it would be greatly appreciated! I hear that a second release is coming out of this on the DS with a number of bug fixes. Any chance of replacing the copy I currently have? Or should I just pull a fast one and buy it from Game, then return my dodgy copy within the returns period. How do I know when the latest less buggy (apparantly still is buggy) version is on the shelves?
Edit: Got freeplay all sorted now. Didn't realise you had to use the touch screen to select characters. It's so well explained in the manual.....

I'll be getting back to this this weekend I think after a couple of weeks TDU and Dead Rising.
Done the story mode all the way through but barely touched on the freeplay side of things. There's something about it that really makes you want to get all 10 pieces per level, characters etc. Both games have really nailed the gameplay
