Assassins Creed: Odyssey
Discussion
Finished the main story today. I'm at level 52, and highly f*cked off with the farting boar. Going to try the merc trick on it.
Got some cultists to finish off and I've done most of the side missions (grind to level up as I'm crap at fighting), so not much more playing time left in it for me. Did RDR2 on xbox when it came out, so looking around for the next challenge.
Not sure I can be arsed with the Minotaur, that maze is a pain.

The Minotaur was fairly easy, just turn the torch off and there’s a glowing line to follow most of the way.
I got all the cultists before I finished the main story.
The farting boar just run around a lot and make sure you have the health revive thing. Avoid gas clouds and if necessary shoot it with a few arrows to get enough Adrenalin to do the health revive.

I have to be honest and say I buy and play these games purely for the story and the experience of exploring ancient worlds. What I hate is having to spend a long time chipping away at a 'Bosses' HP bar, it always reminds me of the 32 bit console game days. So I use a trainer for one hit kills just for these specific instances, as all they do is stop the fun stone dead until they are defeated. Once done, I turn the trainer off and go along my merry way.Got some cultists to finish off and I've done most of the side missions (grind to level up as I'm crap at fighting), so not much more playing time left in it for me. I feel your pain - I, too, detest 'boss fights' along with so many other console game conventions like quick time events (or as I prefer to call them "stab at random buttons like an eight year old with ADHD on kwik-save own-brand orange juice"). I'm getting too old for this st...
The boar farts no more, first attempt luring a merc worked a charm. Mmmmmm Daphnae.
I got stuck in the Minotaur maze, even following youtube I couldn't get to the battle. Will try again now I'm a higher level.
Edit: Daphnae disappoints in the end.

Talking of QTE, I have bought every single Tomb Raider game, as the original really was a revelation for me (that plus Resident Evil and a little later, the original Silent Hill), I end up getting bored of the new TR games, so linier plus QTE button pushing!I'm getting too old for this st...
When I was exploring the tombs and pyramids in Assassins Creed: Origins, I realised that this is how the TR games should have evolved, Origins felt a lot more 'Tomb-Raidery' than the latest TR efforts.
I have PS Now and downloaded the TR game on it, deleted it after 30 mins. The gameplay was so slow, I was bored stless and at no point did it grab my attention. I guess if I bought the game outright I might have put some more time into it, but it really wasnt the exciting adventure I remember!

Just a heads up for anyone still playing this, the season pass is half price on the Microsoft store currently.
Excellent. That’s what price I was expecting it to be when I first looked. Admittedly I only looked at the DLC for the first time 2 days ago, so this is excellent timing!chris watton said:

Eh, I'd disagree on that, the third one shadow was more like it.When I was exploring the tombs and pyramids in Assassins Creed: Origins, I realised that this is how the TR games should have evolved, Origins felt a lot more 'Tomb-Raidery' than the latest TR efforts.
Also no QTE's that i can think of, and even Rise only had the Bear IIRC.
The 2013 TR was a QTE spam fest though, hated that.
I have had this in its wrapping since about a month after it was released and never played it. I think it's because I had not long finished AC Origins (great game - possibly the best AC game ever?) and Red Dead Redemption 2 and didn't want to begin another 'long' game.
I've just started The Last of Us but this will be next I think.

At what point in the story do you get Atlantis please? I've been trying to do the cultist's but have now almost uncovered the entire map but will likely leave some left to come back to after I've got what I'd like from the expansion if it's possible. What would people recommend please?
