With can't seem to get my lap times to log in the software.

It downloaded fine, and I've got the UDP set to 5 in project cars.

Doing the course in free practice, all driving assists turned off.

What am I doing wrong?
Is there a red cross next to the laptimes or they just not registering?

It's Sonoma GP and Formula B any other version of Sonoma will cause rejected times...my UDP IS set at 6...

I'm sure Mark will sort you out as the resident expert if it's anything else.

They're not registering at all.

On the lap updater it says (username) is meant to be driving Sonoma Raceway (Formula B).

(Which I am), it has a red cross here though.

If you hover over the red cross it normally tells you why the lap is invalid

Soz for the delay, out at a barbecue.

Anyway, when you first start PCLapUpdater you should see

Which means it isn't receiving any UDP signal yet.

But once you start driving you should see

The tick means it is receiving a UDP feed and the track and combo match.

So the only options are, that you're not driving the right car/track combo, that apparently you are, or for some reason the UDP feed is not reaching PCLapUpdater.

The obvious reason for this is UDP is not turned on in PCars, which again apparently it is.

So we're down to some other reason as to why the UDP signal is not reaching PCLapUpdater. UDP signals are meant to circulate freely around any network, you haven't got anything complicated going on with your home network have you?

I've had that glitch before

Turning udp off. Loading a race. Then restarting the ps4 and turning UDP on again fixed it.

You need to be driving in Time trial mode not free practice pal.

Thanks everyone. Have checked all my antivirus and it seems to be letting the app work.

Everything else seems fine, hovering over the the red X it says course and car match.

Ah, will try that later tonight then!

I don't think I'll be troubling anyone anyway, managed a 1:31 last night. laugh I haven't managed a clean lap yet though.

OK nearly at the end of this Championship so thought I'd have a first blast at the next lot, nothing historic in this one as I know some people found the old Lotus in particular a bit of a handful.

From To Track Car
14/09/17 20/09/17 Dubai Autodrome National Formula Gulf 1000
21/09/17 27/09/17 Hockenheim Short Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
28/09/17 04/10/17 Nürburgring Sprint BMW Z4 GT3
05/10/17 11/10/17 Willow Springs International Raceway Aston Martin Vantage GT12
12/10/17 18/10/17 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya National Renault Megane R.S. 265
19/10/17 25/10/17 Watkins Glen GP RWD P30 LMP1

There is a good mix of cars and circuits here, but open to suggestions / alternatives. I checked that the top laptimes on these were between 1:15-1:30 per lap to help the handicap settle in for the new boys...

Can we have a show of hands for those who will be buying PC2 and playing from the 22nd Sep. Current championship ends a week and a half before PC2 is released.

As you know I've played the Beta/Dev version, and in my opinion PC2 is a massive improvement on the first game. I effectively paid for it 2.5yrs ago when i signed up because I loved the first game so much.

Would be good if all current competitors could let Mark know either way please. No judgement it's your money.

Set a time tonight, brilliant bit of software and like when I did the Weekly TT I've returned to my usual last place.
Somana is a track I've never used much though,
I also have pre-ordered PC2

Apologies for not joining in much, having a pretty rough time at the moment and havent found myself watning to play much. I am excited for PCars2 though, so will be making more of an effort to at least put an hour a week to set up and crash repeatedly.

Pc2 preordered here too, looking forward to seeing how the ps4 version compares to all the pc preview videos I've seen, hopefully not too much different!

Cancelled the pre-order for the £130 version as couldn't justify it but going for the £70 version instead on launch day.

In terms of the challenge, how easy would it be Mark to differentiate between people on PC1 and PC2 given the differences that born2bslow has encountered - would be good to be open to people on both but appreciate running a combo of the two could be awkward?

Just thought I'd pop a quick message on here to say 'Hi'.

I've been a bit of a long time lurker on PH and came across this thread and great bit of software. Really enjoy the time trials and hope to be putting in some times each week - bit hit or miss depending on the track/car but really can't get to grips with the current combo!

I'll be getting PCars 2 on release day too.

I've bought the £70 version, well £62 on Steam pre-order.

Programmatically it's going to be hard to differentiate, the main difference is one is tending to be slower than the other, which is a bit hard to differentiate absolutely between the 2. Technically it's going to be fine having people running both versions but the times are going to be screwed up, and it's always been my intention with this stuff that it's "man against man" (not being gender-biased but no girls have joined up) with everyone in the same car with the same aids and now on the same version of the game.

I preordered PC2 months ago.

I'm happy to move straight to PC2 or alternatively maybe do a couple of fun events for another championship to give people a bit of extra time to buy the game.

Isn't there anything in the UPD feeds/code to differentiate them? In PC2 if we used the PC2 UDP option does it produce a different (enough) feed that some handsome intelligent IT genius could work out how to identify which game is running?

I take it they're on the same channel/wavelength/port/whatever...

Split the championship into leagues like you do now but based on which game...ok, I realise I'm making work for you, but I know if i ask your naturally inquisitive nature will make you try to find a way... smile

Actually I just checked and it's possible there will be an issue with the PC2 UDP at release which may be patched later, so we may have to stick with PC1 UDP in the new game for a little while...
