Can someone give me some ideas on good beginners cars please?
I bought a 458 yesterday and at standard it was near impossible to drive are they any good? I tuned it in A class it was better but not good. What sort of settings do you have on toe camber and caster and does it make much of a difference?
Download Forza tune 4.This gives you a good base set upI bought a 458 yesterday and at standard it was near impossible to drive are they any good? I tuned it in A class it was better but not good. What sort of settings do you have on toe camber and caster and does it make much of a difference?
OP spend a few hours/days/weeks reading tips from sad acts on forums pretending they are motor sport engineers or just tweak the cars to suit and enjoy the game.
For what its worth I found the most useful thing to play with is the diff! I am assuming the 458 is tail happy? You may of been better off with something 4 wheels drive, GTR, R8, 570SL etc as they seem more docile and predictable compared to a mid engined RWD car like the 458.
Got a 037 and downloaded a tune by worm at its mint(that's in B class by the way) and got a KTM and downloaded a tune for that aswell and that's good bought and tuned a f50 but only had a little go but way better than the 458 there's something wrong with the 458, maybe ferrari need to recall them all if that's how real uns drive

As for wanna be motorsports engineers on the forums, some people do take tuning a bit too seriously and I'm occasionally one of them! Its my favourite part of one of my favourite games and luckily I happen to be reasonably good at it.
Based on my experience no tuning calculator can tune a car as the build is hugely important, get that wrong and no amount of adjustments will help you

Is there any other cars that people can suggest? I've seen an élan top of the leader boards and a KTM Xbow
The Xbow is a cracking A-Class car. Problem is it doesn't have the acceleration and top end to keep up on the tracks with long straights (I got left for dead at Le Mans ) . It will drive around the outside of the bigger cars around the corners though My go to cars are
Mini for Class D
Escort Cossie or Sierra RS500 for B
Xbow for A
Ford Ecoboost for S
V8 Atom for R
A Dallara for X (can't afford the Lotus yet)
Need to get a car sorted for C and P classes (have some but haven't got a go to car yet)

I find the calculator usually gives a better car than stock, but still wont match the tunes of a good tuner like Mr GC !As for wanna be motorsports engineers on the forums, some people do take tuning a bit too seriously and I'm occasionally one of them! For a build,I usually throw everything thats adjustable handling-wise in,then chuck in power for whats left of the PI,but Im rubbish at tuning so thats undoubtably wrong
And its annoying you cant search properly for tunes on FM5

I definitely agree that turn10 have royally fked up the storefront system For a build,I usually throw everything thats adjustable handling-wise in,then chuck in power for whats left of the PI,but Im rubbish at tuning so thats undoubtably wrong

And I also agree that a tuning calc will give a reasonable basic tune. If you want some pointers send me a party invite and I'll help you mate!
Oh, and if you want a driveable Rolls Royce for Le Mans in C class I shared my 200mph beast yesterday!
Tried to do some spec rival things it says they supply the car but when choosing a challenge it goes to buy a car, and I really wanted to do the van one. Just bought the P1 to do the ring challenge and it was crap standard and I didn't have enough credits to upgrade it so will try it again tonight. But thought it was strange how bad it was yet on another challenge with the P1 it was mint.
I had a go at the 90 Minute F1 race at Spa that's up as one of the special events.. Very challenging, thankfully simulation wear and damage is on and having to pit actually gives you a much needed break.
Here's the last lap of the 90 minute race, chasing down 2nd place from 10th at the start (big crash at the start, had to pit and lost about 2 minutes to the rest of the pack).. I think in the end up there was only 2 miles separating the top three drivers.
YouTube video of the final 2 minutes
The audio didn't record in the Game DVR.. So have some music.

Does anyone play with a wheel on this yet?
I havent bought a 'one' yet and want to in the near future but cant handle racing games without a wheel since I have had the wheel for the 360. Only thing is it would appear the only decent one is £280 (thrustmaster tx) which makes my console purchase a MUCH bigger spend than before!
