126.32 in an Ultima GTR. Havn't bettered it in the last 20 mins or so. I'll give it another go later for half an hour, but thats it.

Have you tried the RUF RT12 Porker, it can be a little more forgiving than some of the other Class B cars wink

Also, you can load up one of the guys ahead of you's ghosts and that will then show you the lines, braking points etc that they use, and in turn give you something to chase and overtake wink

the trackday style B class cars arent really suited to this track because of the long straight, they really lose out in the mid-top speed acceleration and Vmax

1:25.96 in an MC12. Maybe a couple more seconds there if I can keep off the barriers. hehe
But not sure how to dip into the 1:21's or lower!.

How the hell did you do a 1:23 in that thing!!!! It handles like a steamboat and just wants to wheelspin everywhere! I gave up after half a lap. bow to you for getting it to handle. biggrin

It's certainly a tricky course to drive fast thats for sure!! I've found that the "bridge Jump" trick is full power over until landing and as soon as its on the ground off the power and turn in straight away. Works about half the time or just does whatever it wants on landing!!furious
The rest is just neat and tidy and braking very early at the hairpin near the end.

Slinky, your a star for starting this mate, great fun clap

Cheers

I'm quite proud of my low-ish time.

Is someone going to do a table again like last time?

Thanks for the advice Baz. Although I really find the ghost cars distracting and irritating. Wish there was a way you can turn them off completely.

The ghosts did my head in at first, but I slowly got used to having them there and it willed me to always try and beat them, meaning they'd be behind me and not in my way biggrin

I normally load up the fastest ghost on the worldwise leaderboard and then spend the next however long I stay online trying to catch it...as you can then see where you are slowly but surely making up time and this then helps you to piece it all together to get the best possible lap out of you and the car...

I only managed around an hour last night, so am quite happy to be down to 1:23 already, only a few seconds off of the leaders on ph and on the overall leaderboard too, hopefully I'll get some more time online this week to slowly improve on it...

It's all too easy to get frustrated when you keep trying for a hot lap and make one vital mistake, several times I put the control down, shut the 360 off and walk away, but I always end up coming back for another pop at it later or the next day...I'm sure I speak for most of the top runners in round 1 that we probably put in excess of 200-300 laps into that last track to get the times we did, being fast on any track is easy after 20 or so laps, but extracting a near perfect lap takes a hell of a lot longer wink

Firstly, agreed - this was a great idea, really enjoyable. It's cool that we can just dip in and out rather than most of the online stuff which takes a couple of hours to do properly and involves a getting a time that's convenient for everyone.

Second Dave you must have the patience of a saint to employ that technique on the first jump smile as there is no restart option I get sooo frustrated every time the car leaps randomly into either barrier on landing, meaning I have to pootle round the rest of the lap with nothing at stake! I have to lose a second or so but give myself a fair crack at the rest of the lap each time or I go nuts wobble

it's just that it's soooo frustrating that i can't help having "just one more go"!!!! And then 20 laps later i'm still there getting annoyed with the blooming thing!! And then when you get the jump really fast and then clip the barrier on the last right hander......Arghhhhh furious

I use the same principle as Nessie, but I've found I can make that corner approx 80% of the time now by setting myself up on the right hand barrier and just dabbing the brakes on and off again about a quarter of a second after landing the first jump (really precise timing sponsored by a cheap watch from your local pound shop laugh ) and throwing it hard left....it gets me round there most of the time without any issues in the RT12...Last night I was spending most of my time concentrating on trying to get my braking areas better and trying a few different lines at the hairpins to see what worked best....

with the first jump i tend to lift just before take-off and turn into the corner as soon as the car is settled. i find that if you adjust a car inflight the landing will result in nothing short of crashing and burning.

The one thing i dont like about the track is you have to have done a full lap so your at highest possible speed crossing the line, the quebec track was good ebcause it made little difference to your laptime if you crossed the line at 70mph or 110mph.

stioll a great competition though, im suprised im so high up with the enzo, i havent spent nearly as much time on it this week. plenty of days ahead though!

Is it too late to join?

If not, my tag is Mjr AIDS Giver and done a few laps of st petersburg with a 1:22:43 in the Enzo. Think there can be a bit of time to be shaved off. The Quebec track was pretty difficult though...
