Ab fab but if we all use the same udp setting will the ticks line up better, there's a bit of a mismatch when you click forwards and backwards at the end of the lap...you are allowed to tell me to bog off.
Unfortunately it's not that simple. Even if say by some miracle we both hit the start line at exactly the same time, with the same udp setting of 5, 0.2 secs later you're say 9m down the road and I'm 8m, so straight away we're out of synch. That's why it's taken me so long to get round to something like this, because the data isn't in neat comparable points. So what happens is I find the nearest points to the one you clicked for the other drivers, which is why I show the distance underneath your name.

There are a few little bugs I've noticed, start/end of the lap is a bit screwy and a few other bits and bobs, I'll sort them out tomorrow, but it's nearly there.

Don't know how complicated it would be to do, but if you have the data at metreage distance points can you interpolate the missing metre marker values from the one before and after it? The time could be interpolated too. Needs some clever logic to figure out pedal input but speed and revs should be a straight line between the two...probably a bit complicated for what is a relatively minor issue...

It would be do-able, but I'm not comfy with it, I'd rather know when I'm looking at it that they're correct values rather than ones that have been extrapolated. Let's face it the interesting bits are the corners where the speeds are lower and hence the points much closer together, so they're all within a metre or so at the corners.

Weekly Round-Up

First of all, best ever turn out for a race with 16 drivers taking part, feel free to invite anyone else you know to take part, always happy for more drivers.

In the real-time races Djbuzz07 continued his 100% record of winning every race he's entered, but it was Tronneh that had done more than enough to win the League 1 Title, so congrats to Tronneh, with Born2BSlow and xjay1337 taking 2nd and 3rd.

Relegation spots were filled by Dpb1975 and Rob, who are replaced by simon P and Ollerton57 who filled the promotion slots in League 2.

I have also made the slightly dubious decision of relegating Ian S and replacing him with Djbuzz07. Bit dodgy but Ian hasn't turned up for the last 5 races and Djbuzz07 is obviously very quick and deserves to be challenging Tronneh, Born2BSlow, xjay1337 and andy_b for the title. Shot myself a bit in the foot because that's almost certainly putting me in the relegation zone next time round, but hey ho.

In the handicapped championship, it got very close for a little while back there, but andy_b takes the championship with Matt S and Ollerton57 following him home.

Thanks for putting in all the effort you do Mark, it's much appreciated by me and I'm sure everyone else. It's a cracking bit of software and the website just gets better and better. Brill fab and groovy...

More than appreciated, revered as a legend in IT wizardry.

We could be the test group for this, then add a donate button and go pro smile Global domination of TT events is just few months away mwahahaha...

Seriously though, there are a lot of sim racing groups who would be interested in this stuff, you should tout it about... RSR, NxTGen, Exiled. They all run Time Trials, they all have different ways of collecting the information, usually screen shots and manual entry.

Seconded. Not sure how I find the time to turn a few laps sometimes, never mind to put all this effort in for what is ultimately no (financial) reward for your time.

Hi I'm Jod i have a T300 and im on ps4 signed up to this ages ago bet never got round to it. I'm not new to p.cars but i only used to race gt3's on the current F1 tracks. As F1 was always my go to racing game franchise

(FG at Dubai) Well my first try didn't go to plan miles off the pace but still need to learn the track. The double chicane is a joke! you need a jeep for that section with the high curbs. Doodlebug87 how the hell did you get a 1.20 within 3 laps? You must be using a custom setup? I will have a few more laps later. What is and what is not allowed to be tweaked with the cars and settings? Also does it matter what time of day and the day exc exc because of track temps?

Doodlebug87 hasn't got a Windows PC/Laptop for the PCLapUpdater so is adding the laps manually, he may actually have done 200!

Welcome, the cars are meant to be untuned, we have no way of checking whether this happens or not but is based on trust. People often accidentally do laps in tuned cars and then delete them when they realise. The Help section has more details.

Ok that makes sense. I've had a look at the help section so no custom setups apart from ffb settings and only realistic driving assists allowed. no restrictions on times and stuff. I read in a previous post that its best to use time trial. But in time trial it uses any saved setup automatically if you have raced that track and car combo before. Or any setup you have made for that car and saved it for all tracks as a new default. One more thing that is bugging me - on the time screen some people's names are grey (shaded out) and some are black whats that for?

Thats for the real-time leagues - those in black are in your league, ones in grey aren't. Means you can compare yourself easily against everyone and then against those you are 'racing' against.

Sold my Project Cars now after a couple of clumsy laps in the Formula Gulf to get a time up, to help pay for PC2. Looking forward to relegation now.

As others have said, big thanks to Mark for the effort he puts in!

Haha I'd say I have completed around 40 laps in time trial. Default setup and assists off. I think I've got a low 1.20 high 1.19 in me but it might take another 50 laps!

Mark is it likely to raise a security risk if I try to install on my work laptop?!

All I can say is it's perfectly safe, it's only job is to listen for UDP data on the network from Project Cars and ping it as an http request to the website, there's no services that run in the background, ie it's only running when you launch it and stops when you close it.

Depends on your company, I work at a lot of different companies, with some of them I would install it, others are red-hot on security and either have an "allowed software" list or regularly audit, on those I definitely wouldn't because I'm allergic to bkings.
