New PC racing sim - Assetto Corsa
Discussion
Got round to spending a few hours on ACC on my PS4. So far its OK, but I have a few niggles and wondered if they were common.
Ive a TM T150 pro that Ive managed to get to work ok but needs more fine tuning. The straight ahead at high speeds gets a tiny bit "regimental" but not a tank slapper like some.
My issues are in career, as Im exiting the pits the other cars (AI) drive straight through me, and have blocked the vision causing a crash at the first corner. Also, after qualifying there are no times posted ( yes I was slow and crashed but still would have a time) when I did qualify mid pack it started me at the back of the grid. I can only assume they use the average of the 2 sessions for the start.

Can't help on the bugs but on the wheel try lowering gain a little and increasing dynamic damping and minimum force a little.
I don't have any tank slapper feedback except if I'm driving down the road, take both hands off the wheel, and poke the wheel in one direction and let it go. Which i only did to see what would happen, it doesn't impact me driving at all. But i have the T300.
Also, make sure your steering lock is correct for the car (it's not automatically set on console) and your wheel firmware is up to date (requires connection to pc)

I have just started playing this on the Xbox and the same thing happened to me in Career mode, even though I posted 4th fasted on the qualifying sessions (easiest settings) it still started me from the back of the Grid!Ive a TM T150 pro that Ive managed to get to work ok but needs more fine tuning. Also it still does not like the Logitech G29 wheel and pedals when it starts up and needs disconnecting and reconnecting. Staggered that they release these games with these known issues really. That being said I am enjoying it and I can feel a proper PC set up coming in the future.

The G29 is for PC and PlayStation. The G920 is the wheel for the xbox (and does also Pc)Also it still does not like the Logitech G29 wheel and pedals when it starts up and needs disconnecting and reconnecting. I started a championship for the intercontinental GT challenge the other night, 1hr race simulating the Bathurst 12hr.
As soon as the race began the engineer tells me my stint is ending and a couple of laps later I am called in for a driver change. As I exit the pits, engineer says stint ending and then two laps later in I come for another driver change.
This continued throughout the race, the AI were also pitting at the same time. By the end, I’d done 9 pit stops!! I don’t really want to do another race like this. Is this a glitch or a setting I haven’t changed?

Haven't braved a race yet, but it does look good on an Xbox One X. Liked it with a controller and it's great using a wheel (old Fanatec).
It is quite addictive!! I've been putting myself through some of the challenges and it's been interesting literally getting up to speed. Quite rewarding so far - although I did notice a little 'seeming' slowdown when running round Barcelona.
The wheel issues are very annoying and odd - doesn't work, unplug, doesn't work, stop the game, doesn't work, unplug, does work.. But it is an old wheel and we're using it through a drivehub. May have to get a newer wheel at some point...

If anyone doesn't know about it, if you race sims Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, rFactor2, iRacing, PCars, Automobilista/2 etc on PC get Crew Chief and run it before your game. Very useful in race info, gives things like brake temps and spotter calls, adds immersion.

Just downloaded the ACC update for xbox one. G920 now lost all force feedback! Anyone else had this issue please? I have played with settings but no luck, other games work fine so it's not the wheel...
Turn the min force to zero. The setting is a bit bugged on some wheelsI’ve had this game for a few weeks now, mainly been practising the same track and car over and over to get competitive online.
My best lap around Monza is 1min 49.1. Aggressive setting with TC and ABS on 2.
YouTube has videos of people doing 1min 45, I don’t know how I can be 4secs off this time. The best lap I’ve seen in an actual race is 1.47.5 which is fair enough, there’s always going to be ppl faster I just can’t believe I can be 4secs off in a lap.
Any tips?

A lot of it in both games is down to simple stuff, that has very little to do with being quick. Wheel settings, triple screen, better PC running the game cleaner and better.
It's about understanding how the game works and fettling setups that might not appear to give you what you think.
The best players are not only fast, they also clearly understand setups far more, they know what to change and also know how the cars work physics wise, so even if a change would appear odd, they make it and it suits their style. And just as important they KNOW their style and how to make a car work that way.
Let me put it this way, if you play an RPG with loads of parameters on your character, there are always guys who have the same gear or at same level as you but are able to do more damage, they understand how the game works, what things they need to do to increase damage or defence in certain areas and their builds that use the same stuff, are at the same level just are able to do more, as they just have worked out a better way to get what they want.
It's the same with setups
