Git! Wish I had.

Wondering if it's worth starting a new thread, as it's a completely different game than FC3?

Good call. thumbup

Better to think of it as a completely different game that uses the FC3 engine. yes

Another annoying thing about the chopper mission - which I still can't complete frown - is that every time I restart from the checkpoint I have to skill up once more.

banghead

I'm on the brink of giving up. I'm too old and slow to get this mission done.

It's do-able. But if you really, really can't be arsed then just drop the difficulty level right down, complete it, and then put it back up again. Rather that than give up on the game.

Clear the first area with stealth, pick up the sniper rifle and then instead of heading for the mounted gun, go LEFT down the river and come up the opposite side of the cliffs. Then you can pick them off one by one, and if they get close you can go to town on them.

Well, it's just a case of systematically doing sneak takedowns on everyone. Use the cover of the water to stay out of sight. Then once you have cleared the initial buildings of guards (and disabled the alarm), sneak along the water and under the bridge, and sneak round to the right and up the ramp onto the building to take out the guy on the mounted gun, then down onto the ground and sweep round in an anti-clockwise arc doing stealth kills on everyone. If you don't have the Heavy Beatdown skill then grab a rocket launcher from one of the guards and use that on the heavy. Watch out for the tail rotor of the heli!

Whatever you do, try not to set the alarms off as there will be a timer if you do.

Edit: Only trouble with Red's idea is the dog alerts them to your presence. But I guess the sniper rifle would too.

The fact of the matter is that I've watched the videos and followed the instructions and I'm just not good enough.

Oh well, it's only a game. I can't see how to abandon the mission either. At least that way I could permanently up my skills without having to "re-learn" them after each time that I die.

I should have added that what worked for me was to take out the two guards as you emerge from the waterfall, go to the waypoint that you have to go to, then work down to the left and to the left side of the building straight ahead. Eliminate the guy on the roof, sweep round in a clockwise arc (relative to the chopper) doing stealth kills, take out the alarm, then back round in an anti-clockwise arc to stealth kill the others including the sniper, then back round clockwise (as otherwise you trigger the arrival of the reinforcements near the chopper and you get spotted), and along the water and under the bridge. And then follow my previous post.

But there are loads of ways to solve this. This is just the one that worked for me.

Edit: You can't abandon this mission as it is a storyline one.

There is a weapons cache on the first building that is by itself slightly to the left. I stealth kill the dude up there and the bloke walking down the waters edge to the left. Then you can make a b line back to the first building to fight it out or sneak along the water. It took a few goes but I shot it out between that first building and ran from building to building. There should be plenty of ammo.

I think you are talking about taking the airport.
I was talking about the right bit, took me long enough to get it right. Thinking back though to the first time I did it, I managed most with a knife and then the sniper rifle. Then got mullered by the heavy.
I'll go back and see if I can pinpoint the place I got the bow from as it wasn't on any of the first three guys.
Distracting the others while you do takedowns helps a lot.
I did a death race job on the airport with a big jeep, more road kill than gun battle.
Getting on top of the big plane confuses them badly.

Far Cry 3? Or Blood Dragon? Blood Dragon is a completely different game using the same engine.
