No Mans Sky - looks interesting

But I feel like it could get very repetitive very quickly. More like the whole thing is more of a technology demo to show off their creation algorithms rather than it being a game
That's my feeling too. I think give it a few months and it will be heavily discounted. It's not even like you'll miss out on the MP aspect, since there isn't really one.Same, I'm sick to death of multiplayer.
I'm not holding super high expectations for this because doing for any game nowadays is pretty pointless, but it really seems like my cup of tea, just something relatively relaxing to pass a few hours playing in the evening.
I actually wish this had been released later in the year when the nights draw in

I'm going to order it but my only concern is the whole quantity over quality. I mean some of the planets look basic as hell to the point that would I even bother exploring them? Am I just going to go on them to do the tedious bit of harvesting what I need for credits so I can go round blasting everything because the game is so boring from an exploratory point of view.

Agree, Think a lot of people are expecting a story line to follow, although this game could support such a thing, it doesnt exist. Its all about discovery. The scale of variety of planets and animals will determine how long people play this for.
If planets are all the same just with a variety of colours, it would be very shallow, but we have already seen completely different climates and landscapes. the day/night cycle brings a change to each planet also.
Same with the animals, I expect to see some really funny combinations of animals.
Im really looking forward to this, I hope the trading, resource gathering and ship/gun/suit upgrades have plenty of 'depth' to keep going.

Some people have got their games already. But apparently there will be a day one patch and this will wipe the servers.

So people who play before the 9th will lose their progress and start again.

Save games won't be wiped, just if you found a tree or a creature and named it etc. That stuff will be wiped.http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2016/08/05/no-mans-sk...

Denholm added that it's not game saves, though. Just discovery online storage will be wiped.
