Although I do like AC, I find the constant "chatter" of the FFB really annoying. I'm going to keep an eye out for FFB mods for Dirt Rally though. Haven't played any racing game for a couple of weeks unless you count Motorsport Manager on my iPad wink
I really like the AC ffb. The chatter isn't too bad but I do know what you mean. Has a nice weight to it though.

Ive had this for a while on pc and whle it's a great rally game overall, the lack of stages and how short/repetative they are does hurt it a lot. I got so familiar with most of the stages that pacenotes weren't really needed anymore frown

That is what turned me off it in the end. There must only be 2-3 longer stages for each country and then the rest are just sections of them. Shame as the car selection is good and the rest is well done.

I stayed to complete the rally cross bits though, seriously good fun with the proper format to boot!

There are two long stages per event, each one split roughly in half for the short stages. Each one is also reversed so there are "4" long stages and "8" short stages per event. Yes, it does feel a bit repetitive at times but hasn't stopped me enjoying it so far.

Really looking forward to this. I've taken late paternity leave, my son was born in January so he's settled, so I have the next two weeks off :-)Perfect timing!

Even then the long stages are done and dusted in around 6-7ish minutes

I'd keep away from the Group B cars for a while until you've played with the 70s/80s vehicles a bit. You won't enjoy it (unless you a particularly accomplished racer.) The game is not easy. Having said that, I think you have the earn the brass to buy one, so you kind of have to drive the slower ones until you get the cash. It's been so long since I bought a car! Currently loving the Polo R.

The stages are limited to about 12 km long because the engine can't stream them (loading bits as you get close to them). Pikes Peak is the single longest stage in the game and they told me that the way it copes with that is to reduce the detail on some of the textures as you get closer to the top.

I'm reading stuff like this and it makes me sad, I'd rather 90% of the prettiness and more content!

Unfortunately, the most vocal gamers are obsessed with graphics quality and 60fps. To get both of those you sacrifice a lot in other areas.

Hi guys

I'm the Product Manager for DiRT Rally. Glad you guys are looking forward to the game coming out. You won't be disappointed!

We have been working closely with the Piston Heads guy on our launch, even let them tear up a rally stage in Wales

Anyway, just wanted to make you aware of our launch day event. Check it out if you are about. We also have a convoy of cars to celebrate the launch. See if you can spot them around London and you'll win goodies!

Question,

I pre-ordered it on Amazon, am I likely to recieve it on release day (Tomorrow) or the day after ?

I am having it sent to work, and if it isn't going to be here tomorrow, I have the day off on wednesday, so I will cancel it and download it instead you see..

Generally they deliver on or before release day.
