We finished the raid yesterday. It was my first go. The mechanics are quite simple and I picked them up within a couple of minutes of being in each room. Not sure whether that's because it's more straightforward than previous raids, or I'm getting used to how Bungie think.

I'm happy to help others through it, though I'll need a fellow chaperone as I'll forget most of it by the time the weekend comes around. Zed, Pimp, Skeeter, if you want to do it on the weekend then I'll be around as will some of the other lads no doubt.

Yeah it'd be cool to do it next weekend at some point. I've only just got to 277 so another week of grinding will probably see me in a better position for it anyway.

I started a second character over the weekend because I'd run out of useful things to do with my Hunter after getting the Midas Multi Tool.

I guess that's the cycle once you're high level, go through the quests and milestones until you've cleared everything then wait for the refresh?

I'm still in the honeymoon phase of everything in Leviathan feeling really fresh and unique, even if I think the mechanic-heavy nature of the encounters may eventually prove tiresome. That said, each area is only as long as your fireteam makes it. With an experienced and communicative team captain, *coughAdamcough* they're relatively simple and the entire thing doesn't outstay its welcome like Kings Fall did.

Zed, yes, when you're high enough level you may start running out of things to do until reset. That's why its good to have a second or third to fall back on to start the cycle again.

Unlocked the MIDA Multi Tool today having previously believed Bungie when they said it wasn't OP and there are other weapons that are better than it for PvP in the game.

Well, they lied! It's massively OP!! No wonder everyone in Trials is using it. The handling, range and impact of it are just good, but what makes it ridiculous are the perks - radar stays on whilst aiming down sites, highlights enemies and increases movement speed. Anyone of those is a great PvP perk, having all 3 on one gun is ridiculous!

Still, at least my PvP scores should improve now! shoot

Dude, if you're able to, try the Pleiades Corrector- FWC scout rifle. If you're a Hunter, with the rights mods, and much like Mr Kipling, it is exceedingly good:-

https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments...

The mods I've attached have completely negated the recoil which was obviously meant to be the balancing factor to this weapon. I even infused my Mida into it. It feels nicer to use, the rampage perk is better than 3rd eye IMHO and it also frees up an exotic slot for something more interesting. I'm using the Vigilance Wing which is surprisingly good up close.

Manannan is good as well Singh. Same archetype but with explosive rounds instead of rampage. I like Manannan (ER) for PvP and Pleiades Corrector(Rampage) for PvE.

I don't like MIDA. There's no disputing it's effectiveness and it's base stats, but I've always found it kinda boring and soulless so have also been rocking VW as my primary. It's good for pre-firing, team shooting and does decent damage if you get all hits, but it's pretty woeful outside of mid range.

I've been on the hunt for a primary that I love, and after 100 gunsmith rank ups (spent 1500 gunsmith mats and about 700 shards in the last 2 days!) I've found it. The Antiope-D SMG. Been after one for a few days after reading about it on reddit. It's not OP due to low mag and the strength of ARs in general, but definitely usable........and it looks sweet in FWC shader. For anyone interested, you can get the rare equivalent on Nessus. I figured if I got it and had it in my inventory, Destiny being the troll game that it is would give me one soon after. Lo and behold! I got it wo packages later.

Pappers, patch and I spent an hour last night using SMG/sidearm/sword loadout and it was loads of fun. No range whatsoever, running around like ADHD afflicted 12 year olds. No hard scoping lanes or team shooting involved. You can still actually have fun in crucible!!!!!

I quite like the MIDA weapons as a double act. The Multi Tool is the first scout rifle I've really got on with in this game, most of them feel like they lack punch. The Mini Tool is handy as well, even if it can go a bit wild with recoil.

Shame they don't look very good for when I'm just posing about laugh.

All about the pose yes

600rpm SMGs seem more usable than 900rpm, of which the Mida mini is one.

Zed, the nameless midnight scout rifle has been my goto primary for weeks now. It has good impact and explosive rounds (or impactful rounds or something). Feels more powerful than the MIDA but, better in PVE than PVP.

Sims, I had the same issue with uploading to youtube and verification for a while, it seemed to solve itself eventually but was very frustrating at the time.

Having now completed the raid in it's entirety, I really enjoy 75% of it. The final fight in particular is a lot of fun (specifically if you return 'inside' rather than staying 'outside') The dogs however, I just don't enjoy. I got completely lost twice on Sunday. No problem following others and getting the buff but, was utterly incapable of finding the right dog afterwards. It is a very strange encounter.

The drops really aren't great but, the Hunter raid armour looks pretty sweet. Unfortunately it turns my Hunter into an extremely agile, yet excessively delicate Guardian with very little recovery so won't get much use in any serious endgame content.

As always, I'm generally happy to help with whatever if I'm not already raiding thumbup

I had used Nameless midnight to get the kills I needed to unlock Multi Tool and it was ok. Dismantled it for the next step of the quest though because I got bored of waiting for more scout rifles to drop laugh.

Oh, the irony! hehe

I've had quite a few of them drop (I have 3 currently and have dismantled at least 4) so seemingly quite a common drop. I'd hang on to it if you get another one....assuming you actually use scout rifles, that is!

I wasn't the biggest hunter fan in D1, that's no real secret, but running a low level Arcstrider just feels ridiculously weak. It isn't helped by the fact that the story - which I genuinely really enjoyed the first time through the game - now just feels like its in the way. I've already beaten Ghaul twice and I don't care about doing it a 3rd time, everything now just feels like a chore. Every story mini-boss feels like a Destiny 1-style bullet sponge, and having certain missions gated behind level requirements means you can't just jump in and speed-run through every mission. I just want to hit level 20 and get on with the real meat of the game.
Just do Heroic public events to hit level 20, then you can transfer your weapons, do a few more events to pick up some more powerful blue armour (or hand in vendor tokens). Then you'll breeze through whatever remains of the story thumbup

From what I've read, you can also do the final mission at level 15 and it will then jump you straight to level 20 on completion, so a bit of a short cut if you can find someone who has the last mission to do.

I didn't know you could do that,

Although, you'd have to get quite lucky to find someone at a higher level who just happened to be at the final mission exactly when you hit level 15, especially now that people are levelling their alts and are at very different stages. Levelling from 15 to 20 via heroic public events didn't really seem to take long though, and was actually quite good fun

Appreciate the advice, but a little late, fellas; Hunter is now sitting pretty at approx 290 "power" (I still want to call it light. Also, Youngsy, I actually finished the story with my second character, a titan, at around level 16 - you do get a big old chunk of experience at the end of the story, but it doesn't automatically put you at level 20. I was a couple of thousand EXP short.

Speaking of the hunter, sorry Moog, but I seem to have been a little lucky with my milestones. With my Flashpoint milestone I recieved the Orpheus Rig exotic boots from Cayde (the ones that refill your super when you tether enemies, they're a bit like a better version of Obsidian Mind) and I then received Celestial Nighthawk from Zavala. Orpheus Rig are good. Really, really good. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they're the best exotic armour piece I've yet seen; doing public events you can instantly refill all your abilities with a single tether plus you make your team a ****ton of orbs as well.
