After playing for a few hours tonight I can safely say it's in my top 10 games.
Currently got myself an ak47 , custom mp5 and custom m700. The weapons are amazing , the combat is slick , the story seems to be pretty good and I'm addicted to hunting things.
The game reminds me of mercenaries with all the sub missions etc , and the way the enemies hunt for you is just sublime !

Enjoying this, but can I just say:
I'd like to click the "Far Cry 3" icon and just get on and play Far Cry 3.
Not be posting on PH while fking Uplay fking updates a- fking -gain.
Everytime....although it does prove a useful interface when playing co-op and sorting players out.I'd like to click the "Far Cry 3" icon and just get on and play Far Cry 3.

Anyone who hasn't tried the co-op side, have a go. Not a great fan of the multiplayer side of the game as there doesn't appear to be any room on the teams for old farts with slow reaction times...
I keep dipping into it whenever I fancy a little fun. I've reset the Outposts four times now, and have even collected all 120 relics.
Dishonoured and also Bioshock: Infinite are both great if you haven't played them, although the visual style of both is slightly more abstract and less realistic than Far Cry 3.

Thanks for that. I'd love to reset the FC3 outposts. But, as I have the XBox version, I assume that I can't do this.Dishonoured and also Bioshock: Infinite are both great if you haven't played them, although the visual style of both is slightly more abstract and less realistic than Far Cry 3.

Anybody else had an email from Ubisoft about changing your password?
Yes. See also http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/07/02/ubisoft_da...
The thing I most enjoy about this game is the way you can try different approaches to each outpost.
You can go in stealthily and takedown everyone. Yo can snipe with silenced rifle or bow from a distance. You can release a wild animal from a cage (works rather better with a tiger than a cassowary!). You can pepper the place with RPGs then go to the gate and clean up using grenades or you can combine different approaches. I've driven into one in a jeep with turret and machine-gunned most of them, starting with sniper and heavy.
There was one outpost with a pack of wild dogs outside. I enticed the pirates out and the dogs killed them all. The blue flag went up just before I roasted the whole pack of dogs with the flamethrower.

I just popped back on to Far Cry 3 tonight, mainly to benchmark my new graphics card and monitor (41 fps at 2560 x 1440 with everything at max. I'll have that, thanks).
What struck me is how much of a superman Jason is when completely maxed out. Even on the hardest setting of "Master (Very Hard)", you can get one hit kills with the bow & arrow from ridiculous distances with not particularly accurate aiming.
