I've been having a little more success (and a lot more fun) using the support class. The medic guns require either better positioning on the map than I ever seem to manage or better accuracy than mine. Being able to replenish grenades is also very useful although, I do miss being able to heal myself and others and revive people.
What I haven't been able to do yet, and is something I'm keen to try, is join a squad of people I know who communicate and have a laugh. Despite joining squads and trying to stick with the other squad members if possible for every match, multiplayer feels largely like a solo affair. For some reason, very few people on my friends list went for Battlefield.
I would much prefer to squad up with ph'ers than randoms so, those of you on PS4, (assuming you don't mind having an enthusiastic liability on your team ) feel free to add me. My PSN ID is the same as my PH name

I think this game is trolling me.
I played around with a few settings yesterday, one of which was the ADS DOF. Can't remember if it is on or off but, it is the setting that zooms in less. I then played a game of operations on Mont Grappa and, it was my best game to date..... My aim seemed to be infinitely better, I was actually winning gunfights. I felt my anticipation of what people might do or where they might be coming from was better and, I had way more fun as a result.
Eureka, I thought. The DOF clearly made a difference and something else had obviously clicked, right?
Wrong.
I opt for another game of operations on the same map....to prove to myself it wasn't a fluke....It was my worst game so far by miles. I even fell off the map when trying to flank along the left side (I didn't even know that was possible!)

Just sent you a FR (I actually thought you were already on my friends list from doing Timetrials).
Don't worry, you can't possibly be as terrible as me!!
Ohh you haven't seen me yet!Don't worry, you can't possibly be as terrible as me!!
I thought so too, but accepted anyway.
Gonna get some practise in. I was always top 1/3rd on the Beta. BF4 I was usually top 3.
My excuse is that since I've moved the TV is no longer 3ft away from my face, it's about 9ft, so much harder to see.
I've broken out my Playseat Challenge which is now suitably close....

It can be (IMHO) as simple as one player on the enemy team being from a far flung place which then messes up the ping. Which means your aim is "off"...I played for a good couple of hours the other day, I was winning everything, where I aimed, the enemy died. Face to face conflicts were won with perhaps 50% of my health lost most of the time. Then suddenly I couldn't hit a thing. People were always getting the drop on me. Check the names, someone with a very Japanese sounding name had joined.

Some funny stuff in here - like the stealing the enemy tank, bizarre knife kills, dancing with a guy when trying to stab him only for him to leap a wall and me pop him in the back of the head... there are two odd moments though - one where I knife a guy and he must knife me at the same time and we both die... and another when it makes the sound for me being knifed etc but I kill the guy with a shotgun, really weird.

I'm so bad... although I am getting better. It's so weird, I was ace at BF1 Beta and BF4.
I do enjoy it, I just need to learn the maps I think.
Last time I was good bf2 was current, I'm getting there though I have to admit to be quite.... 'lame' as I really enjoy the artillery truck (4 to 1 k/d ratio ) and I'm getting a hang with sniping a bit more too but neither of these is seen as particularly team-centric. They do however seem, at least to me to help the team win overall though.I do enjoy it, I just need to learn the maps I think.
I'm still having a mixed experience, with good games and bad games (annoyingly, the game my mate asked me to view last night was one of my worst to date! Oh, how he laughed )
This morning, I had another terrible round (ballroom blitz) followed by a much more respectable game in Argonne Forest. When I say respectable, I mean that I was getting kills. I concentrated on flanking more than anything and was rewarded with about 13 kills overall (which, for me, is exceptionally high!) I was taking out the guys who were dropping mortars on objective 'Butter', which I thought was helping the team but, as there was nobody else around for me to heal and I wasn't capping objectives, I was waaaaay down the leaderboard by the finish.
For reference, a good round for me kills wise is anything above 0.5 k/d (my average) which gives you an idea of just how low the bar is set
