UK danger area, EG = ICAO prefix for UK, like airport code EGBE, D for Danger

The line just connects the label to the symbol on the chart

A quick VFR question as Google isn't being very helpful. I live near Coventry airport (EGBE) and if I find it on the map using https://skyvector.com/ then look WNW there is something called "EGD-CHURCHOVER". The symbol looks like a spoked wheel with a line coming out from the centre. So, what does EGD stand for and what significance is the line? Thanks.
EGD is a danger area I think. Not sure if it is an acronym or just a code. Not sure what is dangerous about that area either.
Looks like a gas venting site avoid from ground up to 2900 ft

EG = U.K. D = danger

Looks like it’s from this site here

52°24'53"N 1°16'16"W

Not sure what they’re up to but there’s some exhausts that obviously pump out some gas at high pressure.

52°24'53.0"N 1°16'17.0"W

Map link above.

ETA

Seems like it’s

“A major gas compression station and a pipeline pigging and transfer compound, both part of the National transmission system”

According to wiki.

Just a slight update to my original post, I thought it was pretty crap when I first go it, especially in VR but I've since tweaked my PC a bit and it runs so much better although my PC is right on the edge I think now and the game occasionally quits if it gets too demanding.

My PC has an i7 8700K which I've managed to clock to 5 GHz, 16GB RAM which is now running at 3000MHz via XMP and a 1080ti which is now clocked at just about 2000 MHz with the memory at 6000 MHz. Couple of questions though, do you think another 16GB of RAM would make any difference and also my power supply is 650W and must be getting on for 10 years old now, I know it was fine for the unclocked CPU and video card but now they are running faster could it be struggling or is 650W still in budget, I'll have to plug a power meter in and see what its drawing.

I've also downloaded the modded Airbus as mentioned above and that plane is so much better than the supplied one.
There is an error with the sim at the moment that is causing CTD’s. Wait for a fix before spending any more money.

CTD is crash to desktop right? Its not done it for a bit now so maybe they have sorted it, I did think it was my overclocking skills that had caused it though.

Also I thought the UK update was out today, its not showing as of yet, is it because Silicon valley is 8 hours behind us.

Seems like it’s in the afternoon usually (if it’s not delayed again)

Logged on last night. Not sure if other people have seen this one or not. A couple of months ago (give or take) there was a huge update or around 10GB. This coincided with the release of the USA scenery.

The flash screen at the start now shows the USA flag and a Grand Canyon / Colorado'esk image.

However, looking through the marketplace, I saw the USA scenery update pack was available for me to 'buy foc', which I did and proceeded to download 4GB.

I then ran out of time to play the game, but will have a look later to see if there are any differences. I'm guessing that the update covered the main game, but the scenery pack had to be downloaded separately?

It took me a couple of goes to get the USA update, it did its thing and said it was updated but when I checked again it still said there was more to download, now it just says its installed.

Interesting. I just assumed that it would be done automatically. Will see if I can spot any differences later tonight.

I've just tried to get it but it says a newer game version is needed, whats all that about and why does Microsoft make everything as complicated as it can be. If it needs an update then why doesn't it just get on with it and do it or suggest you "click here" to update like other platforms do.

Not sure. I've got the MS Store version. Checked for updates and it gave me a 1 GB update in the store and now downloading a 22.51 GB update in the game launcher.

  • ORBX London Landmarks Scenery (3rd party content) is currently conflicting with this update. This is actively being worked on, but in the meantime, we recommend disabling this 3rd party scenery.
What is the file size of the update?

The main app update is approx 1.04GB and the downloadable content when you run the sim is approx 23.39GiB. After you download the update, please go to the Marketplace if you would like to download the free UK/Ireland scenery (4.93 GiB) Note the size of the update depends on the version of the game you have purchased. Don’t be alarmed if the update is smaller.

I've closed and re-started mine and now its updating to 1.13.16.0 apparently, a 21.9GB update. This is the version the uk world update says it needs.

I take it the world update is another massive download, glad I'm not on a metered connection.

If it doesn't install automatically, it'll show up as a free purchase in the marketplace.
