Just realise my CSL DD is not compatible with the PS5.
Thanks Sony.

Does the CSL DD not have the mode button? Think it's blue for PS4/5.

Nope.

There is a special PS5 version of it which I don't have. Which we all know is BS as its a software restriction/licensing not any technical reason.
I think the T300 will work which I still have luckily. Just need to find a stand of some kind.

Are we going to see the revival of the Sunday evening PH race nights when this is launched?

Some of us would spend hours on GT or Forza on a Sunday evening, a few serious races then just having a laugh with random stuff like VW bays.

These were great fun. The replays were always good and some pretty close racing and everyone always apologetic if you took someone out. I liked my slammed bright pink schwimwagen rofl

Apparently they are working on new AI that will be released as an update at a future date.
GTPlanet said:
“It takes about a day to have an agent go from knowing nothing to being able to drive around a specific track,” said Michael Spranger, COO of Sony AI. “Then, it takes about two days to get into the top five percent of human drivers, then another 10-12 days to really push it to the limit and equal the best drivers out there.”
So, will they continue giving the lead AI car a 25 second head start? Because it’ll be impossible to catch and pass the entire field of F1 level drivers.

You are just plain wrong on the "software/licensing" being the issue.

Fanatec need to procure the license yes, however they also need to install the PS security chip (So it is an actual technical reason after all). This is located in the wheel base (For Xbox they install it in the actual wheel itself) Sony charge around £50 for this chip and license.

Its also pretty frickin clear that the CSL DD wouldn't work with the PS5. Its says as much on the Fanatec website.

You could sell the CSL DD and get the GT wheel from Fanatec for pretty much no cost, the CSL DD is quite popular still.

As nice as it is I'll hold off on the Fanatec wheel for now and stick with my Logitech.

Still remember the liveries you and a couple of others used to crank out on Forza! And having a laugh is about right - remember the Jelly Belly racing? rofl

Downloading this now on my PS4 Pro- it’s big at 101.892 GB.

Also- anyone noticed the small print that you
must be online always when playing, even with single player? You cannot save without being online. Not an issue for most in this day and age….

I didn’t think you could download it until Wednesday! As I’ve got a slow connection I better get it started. No doubt there will be a past minute patch before release too

Pretty sure GT Sport had this then after fan feedback removed it. It’s to stop cheating/manipulating of file saves.

I’ve bought most GT games at release. However I didn’t buy GT Sport until I read this restriction had been removed. It eventually evolved into a good single player game, especially when you create your own custom races.

I’m sure GT Sport still implements being online to save and GT7 will be as well.

What version are folks going for? Managed to get a PS5 on Friday so bought a second hand copy of GT sport to get myself in the mood.

I think just the normal version will do me. Main thing I'm looking forward to after a few years of just forza is having to earn money, rather than receiving masses of cash as soon as I open the game. Which is all the special editions seems to be, aside from a couple cars.

I don’t think the extra cash from the 25th edition will go very far though, it’s not exactly huge

I've got a copy on pre-order via Amazon, hope it arrives early-ish on Friday!
