Anyone upgraded the warranty to 3 years?

Not sure if there's any common faults reported with them or how much Microsoft Complete is.

Now have 2 in the family as I decided to keep the spare one I was able to buy and just sell my aging PC.

Comparison of Series S against One X with an external SSD drive. Swings and roundabouts, better loading times, recent game performance and more 60fps capability on the S, better graphics on older games on the One X. The external SSD generally halves the loading times compared to the One X internal hard drive, but the S is still faster loading.

Given that the One X should be compared to the Series X the S comes out quite well, the S is a bit of bargain and is heavily subsidised by MS.

I wish I had got an s now, the X will cost me 700 over twos years, you can pick s for 180 plus two years gamepads nearly half.

Noticed too late X only has 1 year warranty as well .

I thought the X was the flagship? I'm a casual user so maybe the S is the better option? I could sell the One S and it'll cost me little to upgrade.

I’ve got a series X with a Sony TV and Yamaha AV box, both with hdmi2.1…it’s way better than my old Xbox one.

One X was the old top model, S is the new base model. I don't know how much a used One X is now but the price with an SSD drive might be a similar price?

Sorry I read @Ouroboros post and thought they were comparing Series S and Series X and saying the S was actually better for less.

If you have the Series X that's not the same as the One X (the old one) so my comments aren't relevant to that, in that £700 you have 2 years of Games pass ultimate as well if you're referring to XAA, so you have a great console and access to games.

Wife got me the 1TB expansion card for Christmas, so at least I don't have to uninstall games to put new games on as frequently as I was having to now.

I cannot tell any difference between my series and x and x.

The graphics still look old gen. Halo looks no different to my memory of halo 4

I accept that when the 360 ended and they released the one that games were on a par so I’ll happily wait. The good news is cyberpunk runs at least (even if it feels like half the game Deus X is)

Anyone had any issues with theirs? I’m away with work so can’t have a look but my son told me it keeps turning on/off and now won’t switch on. He said it wasn’t even that warm either….be gutted if it’s broken already….

Well it sounds like a common fault from googling it. Either overheating or psu failing.

Is it in the open or in a cabinet?

It was in a cabinet but it’s open when my son is playing, he hadn’t been on it for too long either.

Even when open unless there is sufficient back and too ventilation it will over heat

No problem with the Series X itself- although I had to disassemble the controller about 6 months ago to fix a trigger.

Even when the console is "off" it still will occasionally power up internally and do updates etc, which uses the fan. If it hasn't got ventilation it will overheat. I wager that's what's happened to yours. The only way to fully switch it off is to go into the setting menu and do a "Full Shutdown". Essentially the console shouldn't ever be left in a cabinet.

This xbox stuff has got seriously expensive. I felt it would be a waste not having a 4k TV. Also I feel my screens just that bit too small for seeing bad guys in the distance on warzone. So 65inch 4k TV incoming. Costco had a great deal on some LG ones with hdmi 2.1, and 1ms input lag. Cant wait! Should arrive this week. The one I always wanted aswel, been price watching since I seen it in costco. Cheapest before today was 1559 but grabbed it at 1390. Bargain imo. Picture was fantastic when I seen the thing in person.

Now ill probably need to look into a sound bar with it being as thin as a bit of glass
