Phantom Liberty actually tried to start downloading at midnight last night, just as I finished another short bash. Enjoying 2.0, but then I enjoyed the old game with just short of 1150 hours in it. Never used many mods, just towards the end for some alternate homes (most of which I uninstalled).

New play through (presently 11.5 hours) not far enough in to start the new content, but might take another wander in to Pacifica to see how it now looks. Already been at an early stage to finally do the roller coaster quest (now fixed).

On Skippy - apparently a few days after you return him to Regina she gives him back to you, so you can see it on the wall, though he of course has lost his personality.

On net runner build - gone that way, still very much doable, just needs slightly more time, but then hacking was nerfed multiple times in the past. Double stacking hacks is useful.

I'm in a quandary. I'm on my fourth (fifth?) play-through and at the 'Meet Hanako at Embers' bit with all other side quests mopped up apart from the race final with Claire. Do I carry on and jump in to Phantom Liberty, or do I start over?

Decisions, decisions... hehe

Just jump into Dog Town, you'll keep all your character stuff etc and can dig right into the action. I started a new play-through earlier at the weekend and got to the Dog Town bit approx 22 hours into the main campaign (got distracted y side stuff) but timing was about right to fall inline with the release.

I played a bit today and it's excellent. The verticality is definitely realised in this and the visuals are maybe even a step above the base game due to the sheer density of everything in the area, especially the market:

Being playing 2.0 and it’s great. How I have missed Panam…

Also pretty sure I accidentally ended up in a drag race against an NPC. They gapped me in any case!

Downloaded Phantom Liberty so will give it a shot later, heard that it gives a couple of additional different ending options now.

The problem with that is I have to go through re-speccing everything rather than just building up skills and stuff a bit at a time - and I'm just too damn lazy, I just want to get on with shooting people in the face rofl

You can do that too lol, you get $20k given to you with a set amount of perks to start with in dog town!

The recommendations from all the reviewers I have seen is to start again as you need to redo your perks and cyberwear, plus a lot of your equipment will not behave he same, especially clothing and cyber.

I've noticed one new thing I hadn't seen mentioned. You can now get in and drive the big trucks. Couldn't do that last time I played.

I'd advise using the external driving cam, the view to the right when turning right out of the cab using the in-car camera
is non-existent.

Currently playing on the Xbox, with Patch 2.0 and PL expansion purchesed and installed.

Had completed every aspect of the original, all cars, flats, side quests, secrets etc so really reluctant to start again.

The game to me does seem slower and some of the earlier glitches such as floating guns and people seem to be back. Overall though I'm really enjoying the expansion except the car battles. I find it's just easier to jump out of the car and sort everything out on foot.

I accidentally started three side quests too without realising it, so jumping between narratives was a little confusing. The storyline pacing is off somewhat especially as characters long gone in the original started message me all at once.

To your last point, I think this was why a lot of people suggested it played better as part of the overall campaign and starting again made sense from a narrative perspective.

Do you mean that it's best to install Phantom Liberty and start a new game? I've been wondering whether I should complete the main game and then download and start the DLC...

If you plan on playing PL, a lot of reviewers have said it works best as part of a playthrough rather than doing it at the end after completing everything, so yes, install it and then start a fresh game and it'll come up as part of the main campaign after the "Transmission" quest I think. You can then dip in and out of Dogtown as you would with any of the other side quests/missions.

You can of course just dive straight in as long as you've got that far already in a save.

You could drive them before, but most were fixed scenery', not accessible.

Thanks - I don't think I'm as far through as the Transmission quest so sounds like I could just install the DLC without a restart....

Yeah that'll be fine, you'll need to mess about with your perks and attributes following the 2.0 patch if not already done so but other than that you can jump right in.

I just started Cyberpunk the other day, having not played it previously. I recall reading preview information about this game probably as far back as a decade again (maybe even earlier than that!) and being really interested in the concept. Unfortunately, I was bitterly, bitterly disappointed when the game release 3 years ago and was basically a massive steaming turd, so I didn't bother playing it. It may have taken them another 3 years of work. but the word on the net was that Phantom Liberty and the 2.0 update made the game, finally, into what is should have been at launch. I imagine CD Projekt Red will never make such a blunder again - clearly upper management needed the game released t any cost, because by the evidence before us today, the game was about 3 years away from being ready.

Anyway, I'm still early in the game, playing a Corpo character and trying to go fairly even on skills - leaning more into tech skills if anything, because being able to hack and open things with ease seems to be a pretty big advantage here. The gameplay is fantastic, I can't remember having a feeling of such choice in how to tackle things since playing something like Deus Ex. The stealth missions (theft jobs) feel great because the missions take place in clearly curated areas, playing out like little puzzles, as opposed to "stealth sections" in some games where the enemies are just all over the place and the cover is blown in seconds and it feels like you had no hand in the success or failure of the stealth.

Shooting down crims, conducting raids on behalf of the police, hacking people and overheating their implants, tossing a grenade into a group of gangooners sitting around a fire having a drink etc, it just all feels so solid and satisfying.

The world design is sensational. Night City just perfectly captures the Cyberpunk aesthetic. It's not exactly an original art style, but it's by far the best rendition of the genre I've ever seen. The fact I'm playing on an ultra-powerful PC helps, the are amazing and with all the graphics settings and ray tracing turned up to their maximum settings, it looks absolutely gorgeous on a 144hz, 32" 4K monitor.

Early impressions of the game are very, very good. I must say I'm very pleasantly surprised, because at the time Cyberpunk dropped, which was probably "peak broken game releases" era, I'd have probably said that the game was so broken and the reception with the customer so overwhelmingly negative that it would probably never recover.

I started a new play through last night, also as a Corpo this time (Street Kid last) and female this go round. One thing I would say, it might be more beneficial to try and max out one Skill area over spreading evenly as the later perks in some of the areas are really powerful. If you keep everything even you'll never get access to them which would be a bit of a missed opportunity IMO.

They nerfed that arm rocket launcher thing... you can only shoot it once and then have to wait a decent amount of time for it to recharge.. lameeee.. When did that happen?

I'm still playing my level 50 character because it seems like there's a load of individual levels for me to still unlock, up to 60 for each one ("Engineer", "Headhunter", etc), which include some additional perk points in the progression. Not entirely sure what to do as I've already completed the game. Do I realistically need to start from scratch to have any hope of getting these all to 60?
You can build up the attributes by just doing certain things over and over again to buff then up but I don't think it's worth it at this stage if you're level 50? It'd be incredibly boring for not much benefit.

I have actually seen a few reviews say it's better to start a new character and play through Phantom Liberty as part of the main game as there's loads of benefit to dip in and out of dog city as part of the main story.
Cheers.

I'm just trying to figure out whether I would be much further along in these sub-level things if I played through again, or whether I'd be in the same boat at the end of the game at level 50 but without having necessarily maxed any of them out.

I also started another rewatch of the anime - I recommend it for anyone who has played the game, or needs encouragement to do so. In many ways Cyberpunk 2077 is a very unique experience. It's a shame that the launch was bungled so badly because the game as it is now is decent.

Once again, I played it perfectly happily from, literally, day 1.
I had a couple (that is: two) of clipping issues, neither of which broke the game in any way.
