One thing I did wonder...what's peoples attitude to people getting alongside (inside) on the brakes, do you concede the corner? I'm not talking about dive bombers or late lunges smile
Depends on the corner. I always try to leave racing room and lose the position in the most positive way I.e. lose the least time and/or create the opportunity to fight straight back. I'd rather conceded one position that 3 or 4, or more as a consequence of being needed wide, or off. Defend robustly but fairly.

Typically in C grade racing where I normally reside if I think someone is going to try that I'll normally brake slightly early then take a steeper line into the corner as what normally happens is they ou tbrake themselves and I end up cutting back inside and retaking the place. Better than being punted off.

Thanks guys...my attitude is the same, better to cut back or slip in behind than lose time fighting.

I watched a live stream of the American superstars race, was weird watching aliens battling for 10th smile Great format though, real sense of a proper event.

I think to an extent there is an amount of contact that's to be expected in certain overtakes, especially on some tracks. A lot of people accept that and are sensible with it. I did a race at Interlagos last night where one guy running in the midfield refused to be overtaken and when I did get by him, twice, cleanly, he punted me off in both instances - the second time a blatant non-braking move on the last right-hander which is oh-so-typical of that circuit. He continued with that, with everyone, for the whole race. I just backed off - the points on offer not being worth the hit in SR.

I lost my cool on the Kyoto pickup one make earlier!

Had a German chap keep using me to help him round the corners, everytime I got past him (cleanly) I'd get knocked wide and he'd come past, or he'd keep turning into me on the straights, nearly pit manoeuvred me twice...

He did it one last time coming through the last chicane on the last lap so I'd had enough and completely t-boned him and smashed him off the track on the last corner.

Must admit it felt good at the time biggrin

I had the same with this guy in the back Beemer. He was being a massive pain and had ruined 2 other peoples race and tried to ruin mine. Him weaving and blocking someone along the straight was the last straw.

Love it.

PD have to do something about idiots and the penalty system. I've had 2 races ruined tonight by being deliberately run off the track.

I'm sure I remember reading that if you ram someone on the last corner or so of the race then you don't get any penatly for it

Silly question for you guys. What is the box which shows the 5 green bars next to the username when it shows the starting grid during the daily races? Giggle is throwing up nothing when I search for it.

Had some good races in the Grp 4 Suzuka event yesterday (though having to adjust the fuel map through the lap is a bit of a PITA)... the M4 drives so much better than the Megane.

How silly do I feel especially noticing that they are bars similar to my iPhone! smile

Thanks Chris.

NP.

You're not the 1st person I've seen ask the question... plenty of GTP didn't know what it was smile

I enjoyed the gr4 too, it’s so satisfying seeing people in front pull off to pit while you carry on!
Interesting that the M4 could do the distance, I only saw the Subaru and Lamborghini not pitting

I did 5 or 6 I think, most were a great mix of cars and close. I suspected people were changing on the fly to eke out the fuel. I can't do that easily on a pad.

M4 could run with no stops pretty comfortably... I was using map 1 from exit of the hairpin all the way to turn 1, then map 6 from turn 1 to the hairpin... if I was in the draft, with no chance of making the pass, I'd knock the map back from 1 to 3.

Took me a few races to work out the strategy.

I just made the stop and put a lap of fuel in. Still finished consistently top 3.

I found it no problem to change map on the pad, if anything it’s easier than that crap red wheel on the G29!
Just keep it on the map screen and change it when on a straight.
I was using the Huracan with map 1 from the hairpin just before the long Spoon curve, and knocking it down to 2 or 3 on the short straight after turn 3.
That would have it running out of fuel literally as I crossed the line at the end

I couldn't get it done on the first short straight or in the braking for T1 and doing it on the main straight gave away too much. In the half a dozen races I did, none were won by a no-stopper. It was definitely the best strategy. I finished 6th when I tried it, losing three places to cars who had pitted and weren't prepared to wait for a clean passing opportunity and I spun on the kerb at 130R.
