I found it no problem to change map on the pad, if anything it’s easier than that crap red wheel on the G29!
Just keep it on the map screen and change it when on a straight.
I was using the Huracan with map 1 from the hairpin just before the long Spoon curve, and knocking it down to 2 or 3 on the short straight after turn 3.
That would have it running out of fuel literally as I crossed the line at the end
I couldn't get it done on the first short straight or in the braking for T1 and doing it on the main straight gave away too much. In the half a dozen races I did, none were won by a no-stopper. It was definitely the best strategy. I finished 6th when I tried it, losing three places to cars who had pitted and weren't prepared to wait for a clean passing opportunity and I spun on the kerb at 130R.
I think I ran 8 races at Suzuka yesterday, and none of the top 10 pitted. I pitted in my 1st race, and ended up 15th!

Map 2 would get you through the full 8 laps on Suzuka (tried this on my 2nd race), but left me vulnerable to those running map 1 on the main straight.

It was a good one.

Possibly the difference in matching between S/S and A/S.

Managed to do some map switching in the Interlagos race today. So difficult to get a clean race on that circuit. People take their brains out before logging on.

That red dial is a pain but to adjust fuelling/brake bias/TCS, I’ve set it up so that the button in the middle of the red dial is to select the above and I use the +/- buttons to adjust the above. Works well for me.

For the first time ever last night I got put in a daily race with a name I knew (Allaloneatron), it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable dailies that I'd done!
I started 2nd, he was 3rd. I'd just got in from work and hadn't really got warmed up at all as I had set my qualifying time in the morning, so I was really struggling on the first lap.
The next 4 laps were near bumper to bumper:

We both pitted at the same time, with me in 2nd. I noticed straight away that the RSR had used less fuel biggrin so I got the jump on him there.
It was a shame he caught the grass a couple of laps later, but still an excellent race!

Also had a few good races at Suzuka in the grp4 M4 last night... super close up front, with 3 or 4 cars running nose to tail the full race. Nice not to have to fiddle with the fuel map and just focus on going as fast as possible.

Some combo's work really well smile

It was the other end of the spectrum for me.

Had a bad race at Suzuka despite qualifying 6th. Got punted off big time and then some fella from the UK decided to get right brake hard as soon as he got in front of me so I punted him by accident............so later he used me as a brake. Finished 11th.

I qualified 2nd at Lago Maggiore but span so force quit as I was so angry with myself.

Hopefully tonight will be better.

I wasn't sure it was the fuel at the time as the car pulled up and it took a few seconds for the chaps to start changing the tyres. I don't remember seeing it before. Is that normal?

Great race though and it was cool being in a battle way out in front.

I think it depends on the pit lane length, some seem to take ages before the car pulls up.
I think I was about 7 litres up on yours, so had less to put in. I did put in slightly under what it recommended, it was on zero as I crossed the line, thankfully I had knocked the map down for the last few corners!

I think the main thing was being able to race closely knowing the other person wasn’t going to fk you up intentionally, which is obviously always a concern with randoms

Had a bit of a mixed bag last night.

The first race was the single make with the RX7. Qualified second and after the second lap made a good pass to take the lead of a race for the first time ever. Unfortunately, the pressure got to me and I cought the grass after the fast esses and clipped the barrier on the last lap and finished 3rd. I was followed closely by the guy who started on pole and at no point did he even attempt to bump me off the track. Very refreshing.

Then I went onto the GR.4 race. Again I was running well in 3rd when some clown torpedoed me and I dropped right back to 12th. I fought back to 8th where said clown was weaving all over the place (in a Veyron Its usually a Veyron or WRX). He eventually ran off the track leaving me to catch 7th place just before the last chicane where I completely missed my breaking point and unfortunately punted a Merc off the track. I did, however, do the right thing and let him passed before the finish line.

It surely can't be beyond PD to code the penalty system to look for people weaving or break testing on straights and punish them heavily.

I was sitting here scratching my head wondering how you know that. Then I remembered the replay (which I forgot to save). D'oh.

Perhaps that's why you don't see many SLS GT3s. It seems fairly competitive against the Meta cars otherwise.

You can see other people's fuel amounts when they pit.

Some amazing races at Brands Hatch in the Daily C today. GT Boca guys doing 1:29.2 in the race. Poles are low 1:28s. I need to be much braver on the three 4th gear right handers. And lunatic through Paddock Hill.

I've raced Sonic & Momo a lot and chatted to them on messenger - both are very quick and very nice chaps.

Starting to get to the point I'm racing a similar group of drivers a lot of the time (particularly grp3 10 lappers). Makes the racing really good fun as you get to know their pace and style, and you know you can trust them enough to race very closely.

I've been in the wilderness again following a FIA race on the oval. Has taken 11 races to get back up to an SR S. Back to running midfield again. I'm 20 almost 20 secs behind the Boca boys over the 10 laps!

You do keep putting yourself through the SR blender laugh

I can usually out qualify the Bocca guys by a tenth or 2 (except at Brands, where Momo is incredibly fast), but much more difficult to out race them... they are very consistent and also great on strategy - they've given me the right map plan a couple of times on the 10 lap events.

20s over 10 laps isn't too bad given they are regularly top 10 qualifiers (or just outside).

Not sure if you've seen these sites...

Change the 7 digits at the end of the address with your PSN profile number to see your SR and DR progression (get the 7 digits from your PSN log on address)

I would imagine your SR/DR graphs will look hysterical wink
