I just played on the weekend COD 4. I thought I had already played it because all FPS' look the same to me. How it got such great reviews I have no idea. It was like the first medal of honour.
It's all about the gun on gun mate. Never player MoH to compare but I'd say stick with for a while longer & the love will grow. The game is simple and sticks to the basics which you just don't get in any versions after it.FellowPazzini said:

I really miss the big multi-player games we (the PH Xbox users) used to have on Black Ops. It seems that MW3 just diddnt do it for everyone and people drifted away to other things (like Battlefield, at the time).
WHat do all those peopl edo these days? I've been without a console for almost a year now so I have no idea of who plays what!

Battlefield is still the undisputed king for me - recently acquired the armoured kill pack for it and it's like having a new game.
Still looking forward to black ops 2 though, but I can't see it being better than BF, just a fun alternative provided they haven't gone spectacularly OTT with it like MW3 did.

Totally agree. Playing Black Ops last night and MW3 the other week - BF3 is just a much better, more fun game.Still looking forward to black ops 2 though, but I can't see it being better than BF, just a fun alternative provided they haven't gone spectacularly OTT with it like MW3 did.
Alas - all my friends, and the fiancé, will be buying BO2, so I'm going to have to get it if I want someone to play with - which is 90% of the fun!

CoD has been going steadily downhill since CoD4 which was the peak for me, that game was almost perfect and I played it for nearly 2 years straight. Each subsequent CoD since has got less and less of my time, MW3 I played for about a month and Blops probably for about a week. Each game seemed to go further and further down the ADHD\frenetic die in 5 seconds game path which for an older gamer like me is pretty old hat as I got bored of that style twitch gameplay years ago with Quake.
I much prefer the more cerebral approach of BF3 although that still has plenty of balls to walls action too. I think as someone said the biggest disappointment seems to be the very claustrophobic maps with awful overcrowded choke points. A winner of a match is more often decided by who has the better ping\lag so they get a the drop as they hurtle round that corner for the 100th time, rather than any skill.
To be honest I am getting bored of the current crop of FPS's anyway. BF3 was the only game that actually introduced any new innovations to the genre and that has gotten a bit boring too after a year of solid playing. The gameplay and maps will have to be drastically improved or something new brought to the party for me to be interested in Blops 2.

I find COD more than just the game, its about the comunity to! I really enjoy logging and and playing with a load of people you (kinda) know. Ok the graphics have stepped up much and the game play is very similar but it has still improved!
On the game play do you really exspect it to change that much? I mean the formula is pretty spot on for a FPS of its type (run and gun not camp your fat lardy arse fof - ie BF3). The only stuff that can really change is the things that do, kill streaks, weapon setups, etc.

Lol, you really haven't played much BF3 have you? You can't really camp for too long in BF3 as you'll soon get taken out by a helicopter or driven over by a tank which comes through the wall or the building you are in will be C4'd to the ground, something that would come as a complete shock to the hundreds of "corner campers" I used to see all the time in MW3. BF3 games are often orders of magnitude more frantic then CoD games simply due to the amount that is going on.I was brought up on CoD, been playing it since the first one but the CoD gameplay has been well and truly left behind by games like BF3 with it's almost infinite variations of how you can play rather than just the standard run and gun gameplay. I really hope they pull something out of the bag to close the gap in this latest CoD as the after half a dozen iterations of the same thing, it is becoming very stale.
