Best thing to say at the moment is if he comes back maybe get this race out of the way this week, so when can people be free again this week.

Then we can do Le Mans next Monday.

Sorry to hear about this guys.... If you're still around and want to race I can host if someone can guide me through it (512kbps upstream). Won't be able to join you though.

Might be ok for up to 10 but we had/would have more and it get's laggy with too many drivers (remember in GPL when we would have more than 8 drivers cars would jump around and warp about?)

We'll remember for pickup races though

That public server was rubbish. Lag was attrocious.

Sorry to the guy in the Vertigo that I speared into, wasn't expecting a car to be sideways in the middle of the back straight.

Managed to limp back to the garage after that only to be thrown into the Monitor screen. Re-joined the race only to be in the garage and when I left it told me I was in the lead!!

Did anyone else notice that the start lights never went green and their were lots of floaty cars at the start.

Pretty poor showing really.

I've emailed Sammie to find out what happened tonight.

Sorry about that, forgot there was no TC and ended up making a real hash of the last 2 corners and spun into the gravel and got beached on the kerbing.

Although bizzarly enough I ended over the pitwall pointing down the pit lane........

Guys, I feel like such an ass for forgetting again, but I never received an email yesterday to remind me of the race today. I must get that email as my schedule is very busy. I am happy to host your league and support it 100%, but you gotta remind me the day before. I received an email last week from the 'official representative' of your league, which was a great start. But nothing yesterday...

If SimBin would reply to my question regarding specifying the ini file for the dedicated server, then I could automate this whole process and would not need a reminder email. But I have not received any support regarding that inquiry, and so I'm stuck manually starting the server.. which leads us back to the importance of that Sunday reminder email.

If you guys want to do it a different day this week, just let me know and I'd be happy to host it for you.

Again, my apologies,
Sammie

If his email is anything@greatergreen.com then it probably wont work - no MX records which basically means he probably wont get mail.

That is correct, except I will get the email. You could send an email to pistonheads@greatergreen.com and I'd get it, but my spam filter will block it out. So make sure it's identifiable in the subject. Another, and possibly better way to contact me is via a private message on my forum. You'll need to register to do that, but that's easy to do. I don't care if 8 of you guys send me emails or PM's the day before the race, as long as I receive one to jolt my memory and get the server setup for your league.

Thanks for replying Sammie - I think most of us suspected it was just a mistake/miscommunication - no hard feelings!

Other guys - I'm up for any night this week, just say the word, I'll pay off SWMBO again with another bottle of wine

If you press the "TAB" key on your keyboard when the race starts, you can see names above all the cars, so you know who you are running into It also shows ping times so you can get a bit of an idea if someone is going to be laggy as you pass them.

As of yesterday I still hadn't received my copy, did load up the demo though and predictably spun out a fair few times, was getting better though towards the end of the night, can just about string a lap together without any spins or prangs, although keeping up with the pace could be a problem.

Downloaded the drivers for my old driving force wheel and got that setup but it did seem to wobble about loads even when travelling slowly down the straights, anyone got any tips on preventing this?

I upped the deadzone slightly on my wheel config - otherwise I was finding that the slightest wheel input sent me swerving down the straights!

Thursday is better for me too.

I'm with D_Mike on this though, do whatever is best for the masses. I will be disappointed to miss a race but if needs be then do it.

Probably see you all tomorrow night then.

P.S Someone please remember to email Sammie today if we are running the race tomorrow, I would but am out and about now until tomorrow evening.
