didnt play cod2...

so cod 3 on the 360 would be a nice time killer before Gears of war next week...

wow..what a game! I am really impressed by 360 graphics...they seem to be getting better and better!

The multiplayer wont seem to connect easily to games, but when it does its a blast.

I am enjoying the single player game..easily.worth the £10 I paid for it in part ex for dead rising.

you seem to be much more likely to join a game if you go into the custom match section rather than quick game

I presume this is partly due to the fact that the game has just released? Hopefully it will improve in time?

Not tried multiplayer yet - too busy getting on in the war! (I wonder if they'll do a Pacific campaign version, or even a Korean war type?)

any MP game gives that for me, NAT is fully open on the router etc, no probs on any other xbl game...

even when I go into custom match, I see the servers etc - click on one and "no game sessions" again...

Errr, hope they get that fixed, very annoying!!! Also anyone else finding the rifle butt/jab button is a bit too sensitive? Whenever im shooting i accidently hit the button and my character stops shooting and tries to butt....Very annoying. I'm not liking c0d3 much compared to 2, think 2 was much better and more developed gameplay rather then what they have now. COD3 seem like they tried to add too many features and ended up making it way to complex for what it is.

Also GOW, get it!!! Must have, i enjoy it alot more than cod3. And there is obviously a second one coming once you finish the game....

After playing it over the weekend i must admit to being very disappointed with this game, its obvious the game was done by a completely different development team, a lot of what made Cod2 great is lacking in the thrid installment.

I only played it for an hour or so in multiplayer on saturday evening at a mate's. Like the classes idea as it can only make it a little more like Battlefield. Wasn't keen on having a gun forced on you though, as I used to love the M1 Garand, lovely and accurate at long range, but still fast enough to see people off at close range, plus it had that really cool ping noise as the clip is ejected. Coudln't seem to find a class that had it this time though.

Can't remember the name of the class, but it is definately in the Live side of the game as I was using it myself the other night. If it is not the first class in the list, it is the second, IIRC..

Ahh, I only really got to play as the Axis side, who obviously aren't gonna have the same gun available to them, but I can remember them having a very similar rifle (karkand?) rather than the bolt action one their rifleman is given this time around.

Veteran is what you need it on, frustrating in the extreme at certain points, but 100% necessary for the full on war experience.

Have to agree, it's too much! Gonna go kill some more Gerrys when i get home from work today hopefully. We'll have to organise a COD3 online match for a bunch of PHer's in the coming few days!

Having played through the first couple of missions, Veteran definitely isn't impossible, managed to get through the first level without dying which netted me a couple of achievements. Got a bit frustrating towards the end of the second level where you have to storm the hill littered with machine gun nests, but I soon worked out a route and clawed my way to the top. Definitely adds to the game though, knowing that you have to be really careful and accurate.

Had a v quick blast on line last night and a slower measured look this morning (granted it was only one on one today though)

The maps are very large, now that I've sorted the colours on my new TV (was too black before) I can now see a fair amount and the detail is great.

I like the "Characters" approach to it, it adds a new edge that COD2 didn't have. There's no waiting rooms, you always seem to go right into the middle of a battle, which is cool.

Very smooth, even with lots of players online. As it gets busier out there I can see this being great fun - I love the scout's artillery barrage - very handy for headquarters clearing! Pity it takes so long to reload!

Also I'm sure I was playing someone this morning with a bot on his side. his "team" list only had his name on, yet there were often two of him!? That confused me a bit!!

Have been promoted once, which is nice - not sure what the promotions do for you though?

The bot you mentioned was probably another player on his 360, we had 3 of us running around one of the maps on my mate's 360 the other night, him on his live account and both of us as guests, so he was PhilXL and I was PhilXL(1) or something like that.

Ahhhh

Ok yes it did have that odd naming structure with the "x" or "1" or something like that - in that case I'm doubly happy as I still won!

Hi all, just got the 'WHOLE' package (i think), 42" HD TV, 360, COD3 thumbup

but not sure what else i have to have to join you guys online? TV is miles away from PC so cant use that as an interface for going online, so do i need a router of some kind? have a BB line right by TV etc.

PS - i'm really sh*te so should giv you plenty of gun fodder is there a auto aim feature at all, would make it esier whilst I'm learning as I've never played war games before just driving sims paperbag

You'll need to decide whether you want to go wireless or stick with cables, wireless will involve you buying the 360 wireless adaptor and a wireless router, or if you stick with cables you may well be ok with just connecting it directly to your PC. On top of that you'll need an XBox live gold subscription which are usually about £40 for the year, cheaper way would be to pickup a copy of an old Xbox game which has 12 months thrown in and can usually be found for about £20 in most shops.
