Don't forget Warhammer Mark of Chaos is out now as well, it's based around the fantasy version of the game.... and yes i admit it i'm a horrendous GW geek. And for those that are interested there is a series of books out now regarding the fall of Horus to chaos and the ensuing Heresy, which are fantastic (i'm such a geek.... oh well i'm happy, and engaged, and have a house and a nice car, and a good job...)

only read the 40k series of books. They are fab. Very much in same style of writing as the brilliant Star Wars, Alien and Predator books. I might grab myself some of the Warhammer books if they come recommended.

the horus heresy is 40k (well 30k seeing as it took place 10k years before hand) it's a great trilogy so far. The books are Horus Rising, False Gods, and Galaxy in Flames, and i think the next in the series is Flight of the Eisenstein. They come highly recommended.

Well, as I'll buy that it probably means I'm going to end up with 3 of Play's current top 10 games - Medieval 2, Company of Heroes and Mark of Chaos.

What engine is Mark of Chaos using? Looks familier but can't quite place it.

i'm not sure, i think its a new engine for the game. I know DoW would look good using it.

The IP that Games Workshop has would be fantastic in a CGI film (like final fantasy) either 40k or Fantasy, the epic battles huge war machines and fantastic creatures. Doubt it will ever happen though.

Whilst dark crusade is stand alone game you do need the other two to play any race apart from the two new ones. I saw all three games in a pack in Virgin on Oxford street for £20, which was cool.

There was talk of one years ago in the days I used to buy White Dwarf. Even seem to recall seeing pre-production shots. Can't recall if it was CGI or real - suspect with it being years ago it would have been real people.

Agree it would be a great film. Although looking at the live action/CGI Transformers movie coming out next year I am not sure how I feel about someone putting their artistic interpretation on something I am fond of (though they got it more or less right with LOTR).

Speaking of LOTR - just imagine a Warhammer movie with Skaven or Night Goblins...

I think we are civilized geeks, who have learnt the art of personal hygiene

And yes CGI Titans with Super Heavy tank squadrons and legions of Imperial Guard swarming an Ork Waaaargggh would be fantastic!
