That is from my back in the day opinion though.
Oh yeah Rich, you're a proper old bd... Completely agree though, so few 'genuine' reviews nowadays!!
I don't really bother reading anything before I buy, just either gamble on a game being good or ask someone I know.
O/T, FUEL looks quite good, may well have to try it!

Had to read it slowly to make it worthwhile!
Is that you're excuse for being a retard? I loved 1nsane on the PC, so i'll probably look at picking this up when it's nice and cheap. 6 hours to cross the map and decent gwafix look to make it quite good. I doubt many people would buy this expecting a simulation, it's much more of an arse about crashing into scenery after 8 pints down the pub type game IMO.
Got this on thursday and have played a few hours on this now and I think this is a thoroughly enjoyable game which is very easy to pick up and have a thrash around with some friends. I see this as more of a secondary game to play to release some steam rather than a main game. Good points are a truly huge map which to be honest is worth getting the game for anyway, stupid amounts of jumps and drop offs to explore, at least 10 people on-line lobbies I think there is an option for 16 but don’t quote me on that. Point to point racing were you can take your own line and an unobtrusive gps system. Bad points are poor engine sound and the loading screen which has the same music which was cool when I first heard it but now it’s the most annoying sound in the world oh and the usual 8year old American trying to crash into you all the time in online free roam while screaming down the mic All in all i like this game and are looking forward to getting a few good friends in a lobby for a good thrash.

I guess you didn't have to try hard! ETA. And you WildCards
Walked into that one didn't you!
Sounds like fun Chris; I have to admit the idea of 10 in a lobby letting off some steam after a thrash on Forza is quite appealing!
I'll have a look around and see if funds can allow!

Game reviews are rather subjective though Digby!
I've played some real st over the years that reviewers were absolutely raving about; to the point I thought their parents must have thrown them down the stairs at an early age....
Agreed Sir, but many of the reviews I read were from people who have nothing to do with magazines etc.Googling showed up various forums etc and they had post after post of unhappy regular players It just struck me as odd that there was so much negativity about the game on numerous forums, but just one comment about it being ok was enough for someone to go grab it.As I said, try before you buy. Some may love it of course, I was just suggesting people should be careful before parting with cash.At the very least, wait for it to be £9.99 or summat if you can't rent, as I am sure it won't be long before it's much cheaper I've played some real st over the years that reviewers were absolutely raving about; to the point I thought their parents must have thrown them down the stairs at an early age....

So whats your take on it Curry?
My thoughts are quite similar to Chris's. By no means is FUEL a serious game and once you get that into your head, you enjoy the game.Playing online with Chris last night was a hoot, just ploughing across endless scenery, doing mad jumps etc. The way you can jump into races and then once finish your vehicle gets put where you finish.
This game would be a laugh with a heap of PH'ers on at once.
OK had this a couple of days now and already put in 8 hours of play! Took me a good 2-3 hours to figure out the best way of navigating round, how to unlock certain aspects of the game without spending ages driving around like I first did! It's not as polished as Motorstorm in that the sounds are a bit basic, no car damage and the graphics aren't quite up to the same standard, but this is more than made up for by the sheer scale of the thing!I like being able to just drive exactly where I want and not be constrained, although some of the screnery is faily bland, some is spectacular. 8 hours in 2 days is pretty good for me, so 8/10 I'd say.
My PSN = viper_larry so feel free to add for game...

Almost completed it now It's not the best game but has certainly been well worth the effort.
To anyone who has only just picked up this game...Just watch out towards the end. The opposition can sometimes be a royal pain in the ass with the angry A.I in the end. They'll do their upmost best to smash you off the track.
