OK I'm beginnin to hate origin too now.
Installed the browser plug in but now its saying i need to install an update. Which when I click on it takes me to purchase full game screen, which is not what I want to do clearly. Absolutley nothing is downloading in the background and it just says its waiting for me to finish installation.
Anyone know what to do?

Go to origin main screen where your games are. Right click BF3 then select 'Repair Install'. It scans for corrupt files and latest updates.
I tried this the other day and after scanning BF3 itself and determining it was fine it installed a 44mb update - i assume this was an origin update as the BF3 patch was over 400mb.

ked it up -_-I don't mind origin / battlelog..... yet! As (touch wood) nothing has gone wrong.
Battlelog / server browser & the firends list not refreshing itself is irritating but i can live with it. I like the whole layout and the endless array of stats... But I'm sad!
What my major gripe is, is that i cant create multiple soldiers. I have 2 brothers and with every other BF game, and indeed, every other game ever we have been able to make multiple aliases through 1 master account. I don't know why they decided to remove this function. Even more irritating is that the battlelog screen has 'Active Soldier' as if they were going to put multiple soldiers in per account then decided not to. I hope it will be re-introduced in the next update!

This is because the server you are trying to join has become full whilst you are trying to join. Change the search filters to only 5+ spaces, remove 1 space. This will help.Then the server is full message comes up when i try to rejoin.

Regarding the joysticks, I have yet to find a working fix for the logitech extreme 3d pro, but does anyone know if it's possible to create a profile where the stick x-y axis are the mouse axis? This would then allow me to use the stick under the mouse settings.(I tried this using keystrokes, but the on-off turning etc was awful!)

Im not even using missles when i shoot down other jets now as i can just use the Gatling gun on them

That's because you can access your PS3 or XBox stats in BL too. You're right though, there's no technical reason for it, it's probably just so people have to buy more copies of the game.Mikeyboy said:

In Beta there was a couple on Caspian Border but I'm farked if I can find one.

Quite enjoying BF3, but also finding it tough grinding at the moment. Currently the game is dominated by those who have already ranked up enough to get better unlocks, so its a struggle going head to head with them to get those points to rank myself up to level the playing field.
Likes: Radio beacons, graphics, sound, bigger maps than BC2, kind of a return to BF2 days.
Dislikes: Origin; we didnt need it and it is simply too complex for its own good. Mortars; too powerful and reload time not long enough - most open maps quickly descend into a wall of falling mortars, Flashlight+Laser combo; more like a glitch/exploit than an unlock - even in daylight you can be blinded by someone with a flashlight coming round a corner on you, its not realistic or good gameplay.
Looking forwards to more time getting to know the game and ranking up though.
Some questions for you:
1) Are we using a clan tag of [PH] - if so how do you apply that ?
2) My systems are as follows:
Desktop:
Core i7-2600K @4.8 (Corsair Hydro H80 cooled)
8GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 @ 2000mhz
Asus Direct CuII GTX580 (not yet overclocked)
24 inch Dell Monitor at 1920 x 1200 (running 1080p in game)
Laptop:
Core i7 Q740 (Asus Delivered Overclock used)
8 GB Corsair DDR3
Nvidia GTX460M
17 inch Screen at 1920 x 1080p
I run the Desktop as = Textures: Ultimate, Everything else: High, 4 x MSAA
I run the Laptop as = Textures: High, Everything else: Medium, 4 x MSAA
I have not dabbled too much with graphics settings for either yet, was just wondering what people with comparable systems were running ?, *and* does anyone know definitively what it takes to run at Ultimate settings ? - im thinking specifically of my desktop setup here, I havent tried it yet as Ive been happy with the frame rates as they are.
