When you are in spotting mode you can just sweep around and it picks hidden people up, at least with the old system you had to actually have an inkling where someone might be and then spot.
Well I think that's the trade off they've made, right? It's what makes the scope worth using. Works very well if you're part of a squad as you can sweep the area for bad 'uns before you all go in.Loving the assault gerweher (sp) with the appeture sight at the mo. Reminds me of the BF4 battle rifle, SLR with 2 or 3 shot kills and just a touch of zoom. Keep shooting high with the panzerfaust though, not got that dialled in yet.
Quite impressed with the game so far. War Stories are good, especially the Norway missions which give you the option of sneaking around or going all out attack. Skiing is fun as well..!
Didn’t have a good connection today but will try the multiplayer again tomorrow. Initial thoughts are that it is more COD-like in terms of how frantic the gameplay is.

I caved in and bought this game even though its not got rush mode....
I'm really not enjoying it, it just doesn't feel like Battlefield. I might enjoy it more when I have better map knowledge, but the gameplay just feels chaotic and disorganised.
I played for 4 hours, but never managed to fly, only tanked twice and where are the boats? This feels more like a COD run and gun game rather than true battlefield.
I played the snowy mountain map, and spent 30 minutes in a squad running in a big circle capping the flags, 30 minutes of repetitive gameplay. Thats going to get really boring very quickly.
I've got 100s of hours in every battlefield game except bf1, and I cant hide my disappointment.

Feeling similar after playing for quite a while now. I'm really not enjoying it, it just doesn't feel like Battlefield. I might enjoy it more when I have better map knowledge, but the gameplay just feels chaotic and disorganised.

My main issue at the moment is no spotting, it’s almost impossible to play without it as often I die from walking literally into somebody who I can’t even see ! Obviously more realistic, but that’s previously what hardcore servers etc were for. It’s really frustrating me as I die so stupidly whereas on previous battlefields I was pretty bloody good when it came to having a fair fight

i think its due to the weapons you get at the start, they suck balls in the main until your able to upgrade them (say upgrade but its just 4 specialisations) as i wasnt feeling it but now getting into a groove (once ive upgraded a weapon).
Was playing a game the other day on Grand Operations and some scrub got round to where we respawn so i believe he went 80-10 or something. I think they need to change it so that like in BF1, if you shoot then your hi-lighted on the mini-map, not that anyone uses the mini-map mind you

Oddly I am finding the Sten (first medic gun) the best in the medic class.. But the Lewis gun is all kinds of awesome....Jasandjules said:

With sadly 1000+ hours on bf3 then similar on bf4 I managed less than 100 on bf1.
This was mostly due to glitches and a lack of real hardcore. Is there traditional hard-core as per 3 and 4?
Learning the expensive lesson I will wait for initial glitches to be sorted out but how does it compare?
Bf3 being the best for gameplay so far...

Exactly this. I really struggled to get to grips with the game at first. Now I have become ‘aquatinted ‘ with the weapons and the maps I’m really starting to get into it. The scale of some of the maps (e.g. Amiens) is staggering; they are huge. Once you start working towards assignments and unlocking character/weapon customisations it really starts to flow. Was playing a game the other day on Grand Operations and some scrub got round to where we respawn so i believe he went 80-10 or something. Overall, so far I love it.
