Wait for reviews first! You need a cpu upgrade but won't do it till reviews come in. My i7-7700k will prob botlle neck my 3080 at 2k
I'll be watching the reviews here for a few weeks before deciding whether to jump, though then I'll just have a few weeks before the Cyberpunk DLC. My reason for the quote is this could be my limitation and already is with Cyberpunk 2077 as I get the same FPS at HD as 4K. Can't justify a PC replacement/serious upgrade for another year though.
I'm a bit concerned about my CPU. i5-8400 and an RTX 2060 8GB. Graphics card holds up fine with most stuff I throw at it but the CPU has become the limiting factor. I've completely lost track of specs etc so will need to figure out what CPU upgrades my mobo can take, but potentially worth selling this machine and upgrading, though not really got the funds for it at the moment. Gah.

The Starfield controller is much nicer than the standard to hold that’s for sure. But Xbox controllers take AA batteries? That’s a bit low Rent

Or a rechargeable pack can't understand why it's any different to standard it's just a different colour

I was disappointed by that too. I've since got rechargeable batteries though.

I downloaded Starfield Premium last night so all ready to go.

The controller is nice bit of a luxury I was surprised I was allowed one hehe I would rather have AA's than battery packs or rechargeable I just buy 100 Amazon Alkaline's for 20 quid lasts the family ages.

I don't like using throw away batteries, seems a bit wasteful. I bought some third party rechargeable packs that have a USB C socket on them so I can play and charge.

I used to think this but now I'm just not bothered ..... I would always start out well with packs or rechargers and always end up with no power for one reason or another.

I prefer not having re-chargeable packs - but I use rechargeable batteries. Instant swap and I don't have to play with the cable attached.

Also, when you hang onto consoles for a while, inevitably the li-ion packs swell after some time. It's a right pain to have to solder new ones in, I'd much rather just stick some rechargeable AAs in there.

Pre loading on pc now on xbox app. 126GB at 6.5MB/s is pain!

I am on fibre broadband, its not super duper fast but this is daft, baldurs gate on GoG which is similar size took about 3.5-4 hours or less. XBox app is just dogst, which is inexcusable given Microsofts resources.

If its good ill probably buy it on Steam and redownload. its just to play on gamepass a i dont have £70 spare this month after Ace combat and new processor

What makes you think Microsoft is the problem ? I've just downloaded Halo Infinate, 100Gb plus took about 12 mins. Always seems fast to me.

Googled to see if there was an issue with slower downloads on Xbox App as it seemed to be taking a while. lots if reports of similar slow issues.

But maybe its just st "Fibre" in the back end of civilisation that is the North of Scotland. Its just bloody depressing, whats wrong with a disc thats got 90% of the info on a disc and you need a 15Gb last update\download.

EDIT: Turns out, i have Fibre BB, but not FULL Fibre BB. FFS

Press play on tape and go outside to play for an hour.

But 126 Gigabytes.... I'm going to have to clear some stuff off my 2 TB SSD at this rate. Who knows how much C:S2 is going to take.

Fortunately I'm going to wait a while with this one to see if the hype is worth is, plus it's a Bethesda RPG, there will be bugs in the bugs.
