I don't see why not - always good to have a full grid. Better email Mark though - it's his league smile

I got really fed up last night with the Gallardos. Nothing I do seems to stop sudden and random reverse tank slappers. Like turning right into the last corner of the lap, the back end might start to come round I apply a little oversteer and the thing snaps immediately left.
I find the Gallardos don't respond well to opposite lock, so I've tended to set mine up for more understeer. I then try to have a slower entry speed to the corners and boot it on the exit, trying to use the throttle to make the rear slide round a bit to counteract the understeer.

Hi all,

I've been watching this thread for a while but havent been available for the previous two weeks. I did practice on Pembrey and put in consistent 53.xx laps. I have just had a go at Donnington and after a very quick practice (10 laps) I managed a 1:31, is that any good in the lambos?

Also, would I be welcome along for the next race?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Tom
I'll PM you the details, see you next week with a bit of luck

Woo hoo, got my PC back yesterday - new CPU.

Managed a 1'31 last night hehe. Still don't like the cars though - far too twitchy for my liking.

See you Sunday

Just cycle through the tracks - it should include both versions.

Just had a race there, seemed a doddle........oh, hang on............................

These are conversion I have done from a certain game that I can't mention but has Carbon in the title and are in game, with sounds and physics but the interiors are low res because the aforementioned game is really rather poor in comparison to rFactor quality. smile They may be making a private appearance on these pages soon, along with some other cars to make up a Top Gear Challenge type mod, including a new Jaguar XKR, Monaro, Cadillac CTS-V, Lotus Europa, Mercedes SL65 and Chrysler 300c. These are quick conversions and only made for fun. smile

Bastard. I can drive the Gallardos with ease and dont find them twitchy like a lot of you do, but if the back does step out, youre doing well to grab it. Too many mistakes kept me out of the running tonight. Stay tuned for the R1 Crash Cam!

derek44 try sending Mj04uk a private message / Email... I think thats the standard protocol.

Really good race tonight:
Started pole, led from the first corner but took the last of the craner curves too slowly and got tapped by Yogi trying to avoid me coming up the hill, so we dropped back to 7th (Yogi) and 8th (Me).

I think everyone from 2nd-8th were fighting so I managed to catch up with the rest of the pack by the second lap and got past Andy in the right hander at the top of the hill (just noticed on the replay I tapped u onto the grass when I overtook you - Sorry!). Went on to have a really good fight with Andy for the middle part of the race, I think we were within about a second of each other between laps 2 and 9 getting alongside each other on several occasions and even swapped positions a couple of times (thanks on 1 occasion to R1 GTR cutting across me letting Andy through :P ).

Eventually I managed to pull away from Andy and began closing the gap to Yogi and Goldeeno. And on the last lap Goldeeno unluckily fell off trying to take the lead back from Yogi and I managed to slip past into Second.

Very enjoyable, good race Andy, congrats Yogi and unlucky Goldeeno.

Results updated :

http://www.mercia.biz/mj/HTML-Export/Calendar.html

An enjoyable return to racing, although I thought we had finished when I went past the line with time at 0 - a shortcut later and I had a stop / go. I had enough of a lead over dobbo to still keep my place but my pit-box was passed the start finish line so that demoted me and promoted dobbo to 5th place frown

Roll on next week

Unlucky mate - I did the same thing - thought the race had finished and started pissing around, only to realise I still had a lap to go.

I guess the latest rFactor update changed the behaviour for time limited races. It's better this way but it would have been nice to know in advance.

OT again. I'm coming back for the BMW and RACE races, the Gallardos with their snappy handling are not suited to my steering wheel and I'd like to maintain it's performance without it breaking smile

So, instead of racing I was busy adding a Porsche Carrera GT and Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 to the SLR, Koenigsegg and Zonda F. Just some tweaking with lights, mirrors and things.to complete the Top Gear Supercar Challenge.
