I could have made the second race last night but then remembered I've hardly been round the track so gave it a miss. I'll be there next week probably going to use the 205

I agree with MrO that the biggest battle of the night was the tyres especially when down to 3s on the last couple of laps. Hence once I knew the track by race 2, I just hammered it around for the first 7/8 laps to pull out a big lead and then cruise around keeping to the driving line for last few laps and not having to worry about battling with anyone.

I think it's safe to say race 1 was a bit of a shocker, lost count of the times in the first few laps I heard Gazza "is that vtec off again?" then MrO "beautiful" hehe

Also Ben looks good in that colour, don't think I've seen one in that colour always liked the NSX's and S2000s in that orangey colour. You keeping it pretty much standard or going for a big power build like the one in the reader's cars section?

These are lovely! I'd like to have a 48 hour test drive in one with the weather like that

Oneof the big selling points for me was the Warranty, after the bills I'd just faced with the Jag. So I'm going to keep it standard I think. I've got the 205 and bike for on road madness and the XR2 for racing so think I've got all grounds covered now - other than the big BHP machine now.

rofl If you were a commentator on the BBC you would probably have a few complaints in by now!

I don't blame you really, I would still be in warranty and not looking at a £4k ish bill if i hadn't been modified

Well, I didn’t exactly race many cars, but it was a real pleasure to drive Ascari. It really isn’t a circuit optimised for racing; with that awkward turn 1 and turns which flow into each other, however, the change of direction was awesome to experience. That final sector in particular is a blast.

I was in the same boat but not because I was fastest laugh
But it was a much nicer circuit than I originally thought it was. Now Ascari and Twin Motegi are two of my favourite circuits!

Not very exciting for me but the Elise '11 is sublime at Ascari. Two 2nd places were welcome though smile Going to be tough at Bathurst next week.

It is a nice track. The Alpine was lovey to drive there, moving around all over the place. Pity it lacked pace but it was still fun.

And I forgot to remap my handbrake button before I shut down headache

Thats a very quick lap from F1, best I managed in the elise was a 2:11.5 in testing, with a consistant race pace around the 2:15/16 point.
