Finally got into a game around 9 last night. On original xbox and it reminds me of pubg when it first came out. Internal building structures not loaded in at first, play dough buildings. I put it down to server issues and ill try again when I finish work today. Looks like the series X may need to get ordered.
I tried to play Vanguard a couple of nights ago but there was an update so couldn't. I thought it would be the Warzone integration update. I left the PS on to get automatic updates overnight. Got up yesterday and turned off the PS thinking all would be good in the world.
Fast forward to last night and I got the WhatsApp, squad assemble for the new WZ map. Yey. Loaded Vanguard and clicked on warzone. 50GB update, 6 hours to go... FFS.
The constant updates ever since MW2019 hit and the sometimes automatically updating, sometimes not nature of these new COD games is driving me nuts. I've not managed to see the new map yet and I suspect as its open to all today, the servers will be getting a bashing.

Played a few games last night, lots of open ground, very difficult to pick opposition players out (I’m colour blind and not checked settings so could need to sort that), guns are bouncy as hell, got a couple of 2nd places, but no idea how.
Verdansk took me ages to “get”, so will persevere.

Don't know how they do it, it's maddening for someone who plays occasionally. I played a couple of games a while ago on vangard when they had a free trial, couldn’t stand the weapons like i expected, just like the terrible world at war.
Now you have no choice but to use them on the new map.
The plane controls are terrible, no comparison to using the helicopters. The truck is terrible to drive.
Half the guns have a clip that takes up half the screen and being on a PS5 with no FOV adjuster means you can barely see anyone on the right hand side whilst aiming down the sights.
vangard Warzone is total rubbish.
Having to use vangard weapons on rebirth island before you get your loadout is pathetic too.
Totally ruined warzone, fortnite is going to get a huge bump of new players for their new chapter thats just come out.
It’s glitchy as well when you come back, no sound effects when you parachute down, no visual effects to show if the parachute is open or not, landed with no weapons anywhere and i couldn’t even hit someone, whilst right next to them.

Got into caldera quite well last night I think it's a decent new challenge, not a big fan of the vanguard weapons but there are some decent ones. One in particular I liked was a Nz41 or something, assault rifle.
We mostly played the normal battle royale so we could get our standard MW/BLOPS loadouts though.
Onto the bad stuff...encountered loads of visual glitches, from guns that became splintered and filled the full screen to characters running around like big blobs of black pixels and hidden/embedded supply boxes.

Had a few last night. Think it's absolute garbage. Can't think of any aspects where it's better than Verdansk at all. The VG weapons look, feel and sound terrible with maybe an exception to the STG.
It's basically a bigger remastered version of WAW with WAW graphics. WAW sucks too.
Each to their own though, of my mates probably 70% think it's really good.
Going to need another hobby lol.

Played 3 games of plunder yesterday - encountered quite a lot of bugs which they'll hopefully iron out soon. Map looks good, guns are mostly terrible. The blueprint earned through the secrets of the pacific event is actually pretty useable - think it's the STG. Might even be OP as it can beam from quite a distance. Bought the battle pass which I don't think I'll be able to complete by the end of January with how slow it's progressing. 3 games in and i'm about a third of the way through tier 1.

Is anyone able to play MW campaign now? Since the warzone update a few days ago, when I go to campaign it says I need to download the data packs, but the menu shows all the data packs downloaded?
It was working fine on Tuesday, re installed the whole game Inc all updates and packs and still the same :-( annoying as got 2 more achiements to do

Had a few games on the Caldera rebirth mode last night, overall i quite like it. Map looks decent IMO and guns will take some getting used to. Glitches as normal with a new release but not the end of the world. I had an issue with earning no XP so was stuck at level 5. Changed from the Van guard operator to an old one, restarted game and it was level 13.
Iv had better building fights. Love a good building storm/camp/war haha. Good stuff, bombs everywhere, loads of barricades etc. I'm not good at outdoor fights at all. Personally think they should allow you to use multiple barricades. It's annoying when 1 breaks. Id want to barricade myself in safe. Otherwise I'm enjoying it

A few on my PS friends list were playing modern warfare, the rest weren't playing, Not really what you want when you have released you latest and greatest.
It's as I expected and as you said, the WW2 era weapons are crap compared to modern weapons.
It might be ok if you have a PC and massive FOV, but on a Playstation, aiming down the sights can block of almost half of the screen.
When they said Vanguard would integrate into Warzone I did wonder how it would happen.
And now we know, its not integration its takeover - none of my skins or weapons from before work. Thanks Activision!
So no weapons in my load out, and a whole new map to learn. Its too much, to be starting at square one again. Cant rank up weapons as I don’t own Vanguard (and don’t plan to, WW2 is not interesting to me from a gaming perspective) so i think that might be the end of the warzone road for me.
