Well I’ve received my notification but payment has repeatedly failed and my pre-ordered 512Gb Steam Deck is just sat in my Cart in Steam.
Raised a support ticket as not sure what else I can try. Visa Debit and PayPal have both failed for some unknown reason.
Was a bit unexpected TBH as my order was from 7:47pm on the 17/07/21 so production must have really ramped up recently.

Just in time for the warning about using it in high summer temperatures.

It’s not unexpected. Nintendo did the same recently in regards to the Switch. https://kotaku.com/valve-steam-deck-nintendo-switc...
Same applies to laptops too and most other gadgets. They’re predominantly designed to work at sub 40C temps.
Finally got my order in after trying on the PC client. Looks like it was my banks 2FA only prompting when running Steam on PC. No prompts at all for 2FA when using the mobile apps.

How long is it between placing the order from the email and getting the delivery?
Usually about a week.Arrived this morning, I've opened the box but I'll sort it out later. So if you have a 512 did you cut the Valve tag on the zip or is there a way of getting it off without wrecking the tag? I pulled mine apart a bit and cut the thin plastic.

I never even noticed a tag, I guess I just snipped it off.
Decided I'm going to get rid. It's a lovely piece of kit, glad I tried it but it ain't for me. With CEX offering £650 cash, I think I'll take the easy way out avoiding the fkwits, conmen, shipping and fees on ebay/FB.
You could always sell it to one of the fkwits on here.... Decided I'm going to get rid. It's a lovely piece of kit, glad I tried it but it ain't for me. With CEX offering £650 cash, I think I'll take the easy way out avoiding the fkwits, conmen, shipping and fees on ebay/FB.

Mine on the way (512gb), anyone confirm whether a Logitech wheel or similar will work with it on a TV screen?
TV screen, yes. It has only one USB-C, so you'll need a dock/USB-C jobbie to extend that out with either HDMI/DP, ports of wheel and pedals and keep it powered.Wheel-wise, if a Logitech wheel works with Linux (and by extension WINE/Proton) then yes, most likely, but you'll have to test unless you don't already own one. I've just seen a Thrustmaster wheel working with one.... (with wheels/pedals the drivers are one thing, the software to calibrate and profile per-game is something else to consider).
I bought an Anker USB-C Dock from Amazon which appears to be working well, needs a bit of money throwing at it as you need at least 45W when docked for the Deck not to gradually discharge itself.
Absolutely loving it anyhow, has completely changed PC gaming for me as I could rarely get free time to go away and sit in the study on the PC. I've been working through Power Wash Simulator in 10-15 minute chunks, a game I would never have played but loving how calming it is.
Plenty of games which are at least Playable (and for most of those it's near impossible to figure out why it's not Verified), currently waiting for Forza 4 or 5 to drop in price then I have everything I need for quite some time.
Only slight annoyance is that the screen remains on (at all times, seemingly) when inactive/downloading games. I'm currently downloading about 200Gb worth of games on Steam, the only thing I've been able to do is dim the screen as far as possible and plug it in.

https://www.jsaux.com/products/steam-deck-docking-stationseems decent value to me, other than the weird ethernet jack location, includes a 100w charger
