Is one of you lot based in San Diego * ???
I'm getting eggs from you, which are going to be ace for trading to boost my kms for the badge...
Also, sorry for the lack of gifts the last few days, I'm just not able to get out and collect over 30 of them every day!

There are some areas near me where you'd expect there to be a Pokestop or gym, but there isn't (parks, nature reserves, places of interest etc.).
Seems the only way you can request new locations, is to play Niantic's other app (Ingress) through to level 10, and start suggesting new portals (which - if they choose - become Pokestops in Pokemon Go). Seems a bit of a bizarre process, and I read it can take months to get to level 10 on Ingress.
Has anyone happened to successfully do this? Just curious about the process really

I played ingress before pogo, level 10 is about the same as 33/34 in pogo
Once you submit a portal is sent to level 13/14 players i think who then decide if it meets requirements. Its quite strict but often genuine portals get rejected too which is infuriating as you get no reason why. I just keep resubmitting into they are eventually accepted. You can only submit 10 within 14 days.

Just come back to this after a year off and I’m enjoying it loads. One of the reasons I stopped was catching same things all time now there are nearly 400 to catch I have loads of different ones to get. Addictive little game. I’m a passenger a lot and they have nerfed the speed you can hit things at. Anything over 25mph and you can’t hit it.

Well bother, it looks like I'm going to be without my only phone capable of running Pokemon Go for a bit, so no more gifts from me for the time being. I have a tablet but that's WiFi only and not really practical to take around with me. Fingers crossed.

I got no gifts from my first ~15 spins today. Then one at the airport, and nothing for ~10 more spins.Seems that I got 1 gift from the first 11 spins in my first hour of play this morning. (Dog Walk.)

Yes, The Library up Woodhouse Lane in Leeds. Extremely quiet all around there now, it is always kinda weird when the students leave for summer. I remember when I was doing my MSc and we were still on campus over summer, it felt like the set for a zombie movie. Nice and peaceful but ... odd.
I've had very few shiny Pokemon too. I think I trashed at least one, but not many more. I was trying to get a shiny Wailmer last time they were appearing all over the place. Not sure how many I caught, but not a whiff of a shiny one. Talking of which, I think they must have done one of those shake-ups, because I'm seeing a whole different set of types, Wailmer, Torchic, Trapinch, Exeggutor and Geodude with Nigel Mansell eyebrows and spiked hair. I did see something I hadn't caught early this morning, it appeared as a blank icon, but nothing with that profile showed up on screen.
